Propaganda, Media Manipulation and Trump

Once again the mainstream media insults the intelligence of thinking people who are not completely ignorant. How is it that the mainstream media thinks Americans should completely surrender any and all reason and be completely ruled by emotion through the propaganda it spews? One wonders what McLuhan, Lippman and Bernays would have made of the American public becoming increasingly immunized and desensitized to manipulation by mass media. 

While there is no doubt that a picture has great emotional value, rational people know that while the mainstream media provides a picture of a child in Syria injured by a bomb dropped by Assad’s military, it also hides the 500,000 children it killed as the result of a US embargo of medicine in an effort to have the Iraqi people get rid of Saddam as they all died slow painful deaths from very curable infections.  It also hides the attacks the US made on funerals and weddings. It hides the hundreds of deformed Iraqi children deformed from thousands of tons of depleted uranium ammunition the US used.  It hides the fact that the US provided arms, ammunition and equipment to ISIS who then cut off the heads of countless others.  It hides the US lies about an Iranian nuclear weapons program and the forged documents and fake laptop computer filled with false documents.  The media blamed Iran for counterfeiting what it termed to be $100 super bills allegedly produced to destabilize the US economy. Then media was finally forced to admit that it was Israeli organized crime that was responsible for all the bogus bills that were in circulation, but the media never cleared up the initial lie regarding Iran’s involvement as it hides many of its lies by allowing them to just die after having used them to shape our perception without ever later calling attention to them or correcting them.  Could you image a press release stating:  “Remember the counterfeit $100 bills and the nuclear documents and laptop computer we blamed on Iran? Sorry, but they were all Israeli operations.”

I believe there is a tipping point at which once the media has so discredited itself, that it begins to marginalize itself.  There can be no arguing that the media has been wrong about all the reasons it gave for going to war in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Regardless of how many experts it provides telling us how waging war across the Middle East was a great idea or necessity, we get back to the fact that any quantitative measure of criteria shows this reasoning to be an absurd proposition. The more the media tries to ignore this fact or dress up this pig by continually providing ridiculous justifications, the more ridiculous it looks.

It is not only clear that the mainstream media constantly lies to the American people, but it is also clear that there is a continual cost to be paid as the result of maintaining a catalog of lies in front of growing evidence that argues to the contrary.  This mendacity requires ever-greater piles of manure to obscure it.  What the elites don’t think the American people understand, if not intellectually at least intuitively, is that a lie is a weed that produces seeds, and as manure is piled high in an attempt to hide the weed, this manure allows the weed to grow and its seeds to spread.  This manure then provides more nutrients for the seeds to create their own weeds that then require yet more manure to obscure.  The increasing level of contradictions and absurdities that continue to sprout soon begin choking out reason and logic leaving behind what the elites hope they can pass off as truth and logic, that being only twisted propaganda and ideology.  Once reason and logic are built on a foundation of propaganda and ideology, there is nothing left but a monument to arrogance, hypocrisy, insanity and stupidity.

As this situation becomes epidemic, soon there are people who can easily point out what has happened and is happening.  There are people like me, people of average intelligence who expose the truth and end up providing better analysis, logical reasoning, accurate predictions and principled policy alternatives to the status quo as the government needs increasing levels of bribes, force and violence that leads to the use of torture, war and propaganda campaigns directed against the American people to maintain the lies the media simply refuses to address.    

We end up getting familiar media icons that we are comfortable with to feeds us our daily dose of nonsense as prescribed the power elite and those for whom these politicians serve as bagmen.  As this absurdity grows, we get people like Jon Stewart who mock the media and the growth of independent media that nevertheless is stuck bringing us news about a failed two-party system that provides us a two-tiered system of justice.  We get greater and greater numbers of people who realize the scams that are being perpetrated against them.  We get increasing numbers of people who realize they keep getting poorer and things keep getting worse as politicians and bureaucrats get richer and more powerful. Finally a tipping point is reached. 

Finally, the media becomes chattering boneheads who get hoaxes pulled on them like when Trump used them to televise his endorsement by military brass and distinguished heroes as the media waited for him to address Obama’s citizenship, an issue of citizenship he hung on the neck of Hillary’s failed campaign against Obama.  We get lies and contradictions so absurd that many a clever guy has enough material for daily comedy shows.  We get experts who are always wrong as we end up in quagmire after quagmire that bleeds Americans of their wealth as it bleeds their children of the precious fluid that provides life.  We get more prescriptions for the same type of insanity that led to the predicament we currently find ourselves.

What America needs is a revolution wherever, whenever and however it can find it. Maybe it will come in baby-steps that will help Americans understand that the elite are only in the game for their own interests.  Maybe Americans will begin to understand that the two-party system is a fixed game and a two-tiered system of justice is little more than dress-up tyranny.  Maybe Americans will finally come to the conclusion that you can’t have a government that perpetrates international lawlessness as it expects that same government to provide domestic justice.  Maybe Americans will understand that its media and government have become laughingstock. Maybe Americans will grow tired of power-lusting psychopaths who offer hypocrisy, arrogance and incompetence as the media makes glowing proclamations regarding the king’s new clothes.  The main question is:  How long will Americans keep voting for the status quo while expecting change.  When will they begin to ask about the change Obama promised as Hillary says a vote for her is a vote for Obama’s third term?

Americans will realize that our government has so many problems that are so large they they become glowingly obvious.  They will realize that the so-called experts have been wrong for the last 15 years.  They will realize the things the experts say will happen never do, whether it is a better economy, more liberty, invasions by Russia, an Iranian bomb, a cheap and easy war, or increased security and an end to terrorism. They will realize the government lies about banks, email documents, killing of diplomats, waging wars, destroying nations, vetoing reparations for the 9/11 attacks while supporting murderous regimes like the Saudia. 

Lastly, the American people will see that all the things the government said it would never do, it has already done.  Our government has illegally spied on the American people while only stopping the terrorist plots it created through the use of dupes. It has committed torture and perpetrated illegal spying that its own experts stated did not provide one piece of actionable intelligence.  It began summary executions.  It created international blowback by illegally invading other countries while providing false justifications.  It supported a jihadist terrorist army. The government also never provides the truth as the consequences American have to suffer because of  the lies and tyranny of its government.  It created domestic blowback caused by the Waco slaughter, Operation PATCON and Timothy McVeigh that led to the OKC bombing.  Our government overthrew Iran’s secular government, supported Saddam with chemical weapons to use against Iran and befriended the government that sponsored the 9/11 attacks.  There is just too much that is plain wrong that is right in front of our noses. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out we have been swimming in a cesspool.  The US government lied about the Russians and the shoot down of Flight MH17 as it hides its own report, its evidence and the scientifically incontrovertible evidence provided by Russia that has been submitted and is creating quite an international stir.  Meanwhile the Us tries to expand NATO to the Russian border while accusing Russia of aggression while providing reports of Russian invasions that never happen.

If the political establishment and their media propaganda arm hate Trump so badly, no matter what they say, I will vote for him.  I will vote for him if for no other reason than the fact that they hatefully despise him.  I will do this because I hatefully despise them.  After this election, I am sure there will be millions of Americans that will drop their subscriptions to the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post.  Let the mainstream media poison itself with its own propaganda.
