N Korea Ballistic Missile Guidance System Is Deadly and Accurate

My scoutmaster and close friend, Thirstin Henry Jackson, was actually a rocket scientist and also an electronics engineer who had improved the guidance system for the V-2 Rocket that had been developed earlier by Germany during World War II. However, Mr. Jackson, accomplished other developments such as the SNARK guidance system that was deployed until 1961. So from about the late 1950’s until his death, I had a basic understanding about ballistic guidance systems and also their various levels of accuracy—especially during the time of Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962.

On July 4, 2017, North Korea launched an ICBM on a high-altitude trajectory of 1,730 miles into space, which then flew over a surficial distance of 575 miles during that test flight until finally plunging into the East Sea or the Sea of Japan. Since then, we have been told by high officials in Washington that North Korea’s ICBM is able to reach Alaska or Hawaii, but not the mainland of the United States. They had also told us that its guidance system is not accurate or reliable.

By having high-ranking officials at the Pentagon claim North Korea’s ICBM guidance system is not accurate may be a cover-up for the incompetency of U.S. intelligence agencies being unable to analyze Pyongyang’s significant progress for developing a ballistic missile guidance system.

China and Russia have probably provided significant technology to North Korea in developing a ballistic missile system. Due to U.S. missile technology that was acquired in China by espionage during the Clinton Administration, its ballistic missile guidance systems were extremely accurate and reliable. So, over two decades later, it is very likely North Korea has also acquired the same technology from China, Russia and other nations of the former Soviet Union. Furthermore, most of its engineers, scientists and technicians are probably still exchanging information with China.
