Regime Change Reports From Syrian Civil War: Free Syrian Army Clashing With Government Forces

Syria is plunging fast into civil disobedience and civil war like situation as the government ruled by Bashar al-Assad is still unmoved to allay grievances of opposition. The regime has failed to pacify pro-democracy people as the uprising against the dictator enters into eleventh month. Arab League, mediators, interlocutors, pressure by European countries and American all have failed to convince the dictator to end violence in the country. Assad wants to stay in power at any cost and resolve the issue on his own terms.
Though monitors of the Arab League are still in Syria to assess the situation on ground but they have also badly failed to get their recommendations implemented by the regime. What were recommendations of the Arab League? Around two weeks back, Arab League in one of its sessions suggested Bashar al-Assad to remove security forces and tanks from streets. He was also asked to release political prisoners who are also believed to be in thousands as a good will gesture.
Leaders of the Arab League were of the view if the regime implements these steps, then in the second round they would arrange a meeting of opposition members with the government to settle down the issue. Unfortunately, the dictator even did not comply with first set of recommendations and even termed representatives of the League working on behest of foreign forces. Assad perceives as the whole world against him and he himself would do the good for his countrymen. And, as always, it is the civilians who will pay the price in this burgeoning civil war. While tanks rumble through residential neighborhoods, reports of mass defections of government soldiers continue to surface.

Officials of Syria continue to blame on the United States for meddling in the country’s affairs and have even warned of dire consequences if the US does not abstain from the practice. Assad has even warned the US that Syria is located on a fault line if the US intervened in the country’s affairs, the whole world would be jolted.
