Manning says (FULL STORY) US public lied to about Iraq from the start

~~Bradley Manning the detained US soldier convicted of leaking a trove of secret documents to WikiLeaks made a rare foray into public life Saturday to warn Americans they were being lied to AGAIN.

 Manning is serving a 35-year prison sentence on espionage charges for passing 700,000 secret documents, including diplomatic cables and military intelligence files, to anti-secrecy website WikiLeaks in the largest-scale leak in US history.

 Documents turned over, concerning the activities of the Cheney Energy Task Force, contain a map of Iraqi oilfields, pipelines, refineries and terminals, as well as two charts detailing Iraqi oil and gas projects, and “Foreign Suitors for Iraqi Oilfield Contracts.” The documents, dated March 2001, also feature maps of Saudi Arabian and United Arab Emirates oilfields, pipelines, refineries and tanker terminals. There are supporting charts with details of the major oil and gas development projects in each country that provide information on the project’s costs, capacity, oil company and status or completion date.

Documented plans of occupation and exploitation predating September 11 confirm that U.S. policy is driven by the dictates of the energy industry.

 ”I understand that my actions violated the law. However, the concerns that motivated me have not been resolved,” Manning wrote in a New York Times editorial.
