It's Time to BAN All "Assault" Trucks!

Since WWI, the people of America and other civilized countries have been subject to the unpredictable horrors randomly inflicted upon our population whenever someone behind the controls of one of these killing machines decides to go berzerk and take their rage out upon the nearest innocent victims. Yesterday, in Nice, France, we find yet another example of the kind of carnage which easy access to these high–powered 18 wheeled killing machines can inflict. As I write this today, 83 people have dies and at least another 43 are in hospitals, fighting for their lives. And all because buying, renting or leasing one of these lethal killing machines is easier, according to President Obama — than buying a book, or a computer.

I am speaking, of course, about full-sized, high powered, semi-tractor trailer “assault” trucks! These “assault” trucks, with their high capacity trailers, and fully automatic transmissions, must be banned from the civilized world immediately! It is time we removed these “Vehicles and Weapons of War” from our streets and made our world safe again for the average citizen.

Bleeding hearts will, of course, point out that the “evil” resides in the operator of these vehicles, and that without malicious intent, the vast majority of owners and operators of these 53 foot mass murdering death wagons would remain harmless and properly controlled. True, most owners garage these vehicles and keep them under lock and key to prevent unauthorized use. Nevertheless, it is clear from the carnage in France that some unstable people cannot resist the feelings of god-like power once they get behind the wheel of one of these weapons of mass destruction, and when they do, the inherent evil of unharnessed horsepower subverts whatever restraints the veneer of civilization might have applied to their psyches.

We have all heard the excuses which the NHA (National Highway Association) has promulgated by buying various Congressmen and Senators to keep these death dealing “assault” trucks on our streets, available to whomever can afford them, with the results that they are flooding our streets, roads and highways while threatening the lives of all honest, decent, innocent civilians with inherent menace. We must fight the subversion of public safety which this powerful lobby promptes; we must shine a light on the cover of innocence by which the NHA cloaks their evil intent by keeping these high-powered, high-capacity “assault” trucks freely available to anyone who can afford them.

The time for argument is over. It is time to act. I say BAN all high capacity “Assault Trucks” immediately, melt them down and make them into genuinely useful objects, and forever tell our children how we acted rationally and humanely and in their best interests by finally eliminating this scourge from our roads, our highways, our cities, and our lives!

P.S. For those benighted souls who do not or cannot understand that the above is a parody on the typical Progressive/Liberal mantra regarding the “easy access” of firearms, and in particular “assault” weapons, to the general public, I take this opportunity to spell out the inherent flaws in your argument.

ANY object can be used to commit an “assault”; from a pencil, to a knife, to a golf club, to a baseball bat, and even to a gun. Nearly every object you can think of has been used in war for both protection (defense) and aggression (offense). Rocks, clubs, knives and spears were the first “assault” weapons, IF they were used to aggressively assault “the enemy.” And the same objects were also used as weapons of defense!

I know that the following is a revolutionary concept for most non-thinking Progressive/Liberals (but I repeat myself), yet it nevertheless does bear repeating — the way an object is used does not make the object evil, and no inherent evil exists within inanimate objects. The way an object is used may make it beneficial (using a knife to slice bread; or using it to defend your life) — or it may make it detrimental, like using the same knife to commit a robbery at knife point. The owner, operator, and user of that object determines its usage and purpose; the object simply exists to perform a function, and whether that function is good or evil is determined by the person who wields the object.

Much discussion has been raised about once again banning “high-powered, high capacity ‘assault’ rifles” from being made available to the general public, and able to be legally purchased by the average honest citizen, on the mistaken belief that because a miniscule fraction of those who acquire these weapons choose to use them to commit crimes and kill people, that no one should be able to buy them. Hopefully, it should now be obvious — even to Progressive Liberals — that a determined terrorist will use any object at their disposal to commit carnage, mayhem and murder. This is because the inherent evil resides in the individual, NOT in the object itself!

Banning so-called “assault” rifles will do NOTHING to stop terrorism, because terrorists will use whatever is at hand to commit their acts of terror. Removing the ability of the average, honest citizen to acquire modern weapons by which to defend their lives, their family and their property will do nothing to stop terrorism, and in fact, will invite more acts of terror. Passing yet another law on the possession of certain objects will no more make them unavailable to terrorists than it did to the driver of the “assault truck” in Nice, France, which was loaded with guns, bombs, and grenades, all of which are illegal in France.

To therefore continue to promote banning so-called “assault” rifles from being sold to the honest and decent citizens of America, 99.9% of whom will not use this weapon in the commission of a crime, is simply a convenient red herring — a means by which to shift the blame on the inept incompetence of Western civilization, and specifically the Obama administration, from admitting the actual root cause of these atrocities – radical Muslim terrorism.

To stupidly lobby to remove a citizen’s right and ability to protect themselves and their family from these threats to life and liberty with a weapon that can be used for self-defense, as well as “assault” (depending upon he situation) illustrates the inherent specious vacuity of the typical Progressive – Liberal gun control mantra.

I hope this self-evident parody will help those on the other side of the fence, as well as those residing on the middle of it, to come down on the side of rationality. I hope they can understand that the misuse of an object should not preclude its ownership, use or possession by the vast majority of honest people.

Such continued short-sighted stupidity — the brain-dead mantra of ‘gun control’ rather than crime control — that is blaming the object rather than the perpetrator, will ultimately render us defenseless against Evil.

Just me

You can tell an assault truck by their scary features. Jacked up, wide knobby tires, brush guards, black paint, automatic transmission, curb feelers. If a truck has any two of these features it is considered an assault truck
