This idea makes revolution unnecessary! Lobby the politicians for the people - fight fire with fire!

Ok so I have an idea that no one else seems to have had.

We all know the main problem in politics is bought politicians, or ones who pretend to represent the people but side with the corporations/banks if they are lobbied.

Well I would like to place corporate lobbying in the same basket as bribery but since that might not happen, the best thing for the people to do is to lobby too!

I know the first thing you are thinking, but hear me out.

We may have the moral highground, but it’s not working. Money talks.

You might think we would be lowering ourselves but actually, we would be:

1. Taking away any excuse not to represent us,
2. Shining a torch on politicians who don’t represent the people if they still side with corporations
3. Using our great power in numbers to be able to beat any contribution from corporations, if enough of us contribute even tiny amounts like $5.
4. Give corporations a run for their money if they really want their way (since contributions may soon be unlimited as a warped form of free speech). We have the power to bankrupt them or force them to give up.
5. Give politicians more of a reason to represent the people if they are just there for the money, with no reason left not to.

Even with the staggering $17TRILLION debt, divide that by the population and it’s about $50,000 each.

Most lobby contributions are less than $20,000. That means that only 4000 people with $5 each can match it. And there are millions of us! We can come up with a lot more money than corporations, plus corporate contributions have limits (for now) – and we are many individuals – not limited to just one entity!

So imagine influencing GMO labelling, war, privacy, bank bailouts – or any of the things that harm the people but benefit the elite.

We can change policy with no need for violence, or giving an excuse to take our freedom.

Sure politicians will be happy taking bids – but as mentioned in point 1, their true agenda will be uncovered if they have the pressure of the will of the people, plus the only thing normally enjoyed from corporate lobbyists – how could they resist what the people want then? If they do they will be accused of breaking their oath of office and known for NOT being our representatives. So the bidding war will not last long.

And we don’t normally like where our tax dollars go anyway – we may as well make our money count!
