"Warning" Earth is entering period of Mass Extinction

Here we go folks, RELAX this is NOT an ELE event that will KILL US ALL today but it is a story of true importance for mankinds future existence on Earth. When I first saw this story I was in shock and disbelief. You may be also. It is true and it is supported by scientists research, conclusions and their findings. As you read this article and click the links, read and research it for yourself. Look at the big picture of life.

Be it known this is happening now and will continue to progressively develop into a destructive situation for all life on Earth for millions of years into the future unless WE take action now. Earth is our home and yet we are destroying it. When will we ever learn? When will we act to rectify this path of self destruction? Today? After all we are the only intelligent beings capable of it, right? We and our ancestors did this. We must take responsibility and change it. If we do not, who will, every human being can. Our childrens children will havew to face the end result.

Over the next few centuries, Earth could face a mass extinction on par with the one that killed off the dinosaurs 65 million years ago, according to a new study.

According to a study published in the journal ‘Science Advances’, planet Earth is entering its sixth period of mass extinction. One of the authors noted, “If it is allowed to continue, life would take many millions of years to recover, and our species itself would likely disappear early on.” The last mass extinction occurred 65 million years ago resulting in the loss of the dinosaurs and numerous other species.

According to NBC News, “Many of the causes for biodiversity loss have been traced to industrialization, deforestation and other, less obvious human factors.

Estimates reveal an exceptionally rapid loss of biodiversity over the last few centuries, indicating that a sixth mass extinction is already under way. Averting a dramatic decay of biodiversity and the subsequent loss of ecosystem services is still possible through intensified conservation efforts, but that window of opportunity is rapidly closing.

People are precipitating a global spasm of biodiversity loss.

Arguably the most serious aspect of the environmental crisis is the loss of biodiversity—the other living things with which we share Earth. This affects human well-being by interfering with crucial ecosystem services such as crop pollination and water purification and by destroying humanity’s beautiful, fascinating, and culturally important living companions.

The evidence is incontrovertible that recent extinction rates are unprecedented in human history and highly unusual in Earth’s history. Our analysis emphasizes that our global society has started to destroy species of other organisms at an accelerating rate, initiating a mass extinction episode unparalleled for 65 million years. If the currently elevated extinction pace is allowed to continue, humans will soon (in as little as three human lifetimes) be deprived of many biodiversity benefits. On human time scales, this loss would be effectively permanent because in the aftermath of past mass extinctions, the living world took hundreds of thousands to millions of years to rediversify.

This is definitely a huge and worrysome problem, but it is not the immediate eradication of the natural world,
