Polar Vortex to Take Over Your Workweek Get ready for the FRIDGID Arctic Blast

A blast of winter is expected to bring a foot of snow in the Midwest.

The polar vortex is bringing the air that belongs in the Arctic into the nation and it will encompass 42 states with bone-chilling temperatures. Doesn’t it seem like it was only last week that you couldn’t get enough air conditioning into your home to get rid of the hot, humid and horrible weather?

According to AccuWeather.com on Nov. 8, as the “polar vortex is displaced south, the door will open for Arctic air to plunge over much of the United States as the new week progresses.” It’s coming and we are not even in the middle of November yet.

The polar vortex is the coldest pocket of air in the northern hemisphere, which sits over the polar region. When this pocket of air occasionally gets dislodged further south than where it should be, which is happening right now, the U.S. gets a blast of frigid air.
