Old Man winter is roaring like a lion here in the Northeast and the East Coast, the punishment continues! Right now on Long Island we have 8 degrees with wind gusts to 37MPH wind chill -13. Tomorrow night they’re saying -3 . Check out -11 in Detroit.

The water pipe coming off by the main froze on me the other night when it was 7 degrees, caught it in time  before it froze solid, then I flooded the area with heat. See below what you can do to prevent this from happening .

I have heard of others having problems because of the extreme cold also. Tonight low temp. records could be smashed for some areas.

Looks like that article my alter ego slapped together about the Oct. Siberian snow cover and brutal cold and snow to follow here in  Jan/Feb was dead on!! And the amounts of snow we have all had, especially Boston, forget about it. Boston, heads up this weekend, another storm could drop some snow and rain making roofs vulnerable. Florida, I feel for you too, your not suppose to be punished like this either, hang in there.

Old Man Winter will be unrelenting across the Midwest and Northeast this week as yet another blast of arctic air spreads deep into the South and off the Atlantic coast.

This current push of arctic air is delivering air that is just as cold, or even colder than the air that brought subzero lows to the Midwest and Northeast during last weekend.

Millions will shiver from Chicago to New York City as record lows are challenged during this bitter blast. Records may also fall across parts of the South where temperatures manage to fall into the teens and single digits.
