Weird Weather
“~~A TROPICAL MOISTURE PLUME OVER THE PACIFIC IS MOVING TOWARDS
NORTHERN CALIFORNIA AND IS EXPECTED TO BRING WETTER WEATHER TO THE
REGION THURSDAY THROUGH MONDAY. SNOW LEVELS WILL START AND REMAIN
HIGH…GENERALLY ABOVE 7000 FEET BUT SOME STRONGER CONVECTION ON
FRIDAY COULD BRING SNOW LEVELS TEMPORARILY DOWN TO PASS LEVELS.
PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS IN THE VALLEY THURSDAY THROUGH SATURDAY ARE
EXPECTED TO RANGE FROM AROUND AN INCH IN THE NORTHERN SAN JOAQUIN
VALLEY TO UP TO 4 INCHES IN THE NORTHERN SACRAMENTO VALLEY. THE
MOUNTAINS SURROUNDING THE NORTHERN SACRAMENTO VALLEY ARE LIKELY TO
SEE OVER 5 INCHES OF RAINFALL. A BRIEF BREAK TO SHOWERS SUNDAY WILL
BE FOLLOWED BY ANOTHER ROUND OF STEADY PRECIPITATION LATE SUNDAY
AND MONDAY. IN ADDITION TO THE PRECIPITATION…GUSTY WINDS ARE
EXPECTED WITH THIS SYSTEM ESPECIALLY LATE THURSDAY THROUGH FRIDAY
NIGHT. WIND GUSTS OF 30 MPH OR MORE ARE LIKELY IN THE VALLEY WITH
GUSTS TO 60 MPH OR MORE OVER THE SIERRA.”
Kiss the snowpack, what there is of it, goodbye!
http://www.intellicast.com/Local/WxMap.aspxWeird weather situation over California Sierras/Lake Tahoe basin. Been up since 4:30am and a fuzzy looking ”cloud bank” has been visible overhead, even in the full moon light, right up until now. It stretches horizon to horizon, from the N/NE to the S/SW over the area. It has not moved to the east or the west. To the east of this “cloud bank” its cloudy, to the west its mostly clear. It looks like its being generated somehow, as if to block the “atmospheric river of water” that is to stream in from the Pacific? Have seen aircraft flying at high altitude laying down “trails”, (no not contrails), that skirt the edge of this “cloud bank”. It does not look natural! Right now, on the Intellicast weather website’s the “cloud bank” is not showing up on the Interactive Weather Map at all! Look at the website above. It should be showing up because the cloud cover from its edge is unbroken and relatively thick. The infrared image on Intellicast shows a thick “cloud bank” stretching all along the Sierra’s, but nothing showing on the visible radar image. Weird.

There is something definitely weird about the weather right now. Look at the following still images of weather right now as of 2:20pm PST on the west coast.

Now look at the image being shown on Intellicasts Interactive Weather Map.

What’s missing in this image that is being shown in the other images?
Same thing happening today that happened yesterday with the weather images. Look for yourselves. I’m not going to waste my time doing it for you. Forecast is for heavy rain in the northern Sierra mountains, and Mount Shasta, with up to 2 inches of rain, not snow, Saturday at Lake Tahoe. Freezing level is to be above 8,000 feet for all the mountains in northern CA, so kiss the snow that’s there goodbye. Thunderstorms are forecast for the central and northern CA valley locations, some severe, with possible damaging winds on Saturday, however, it remains to be seen if this forecast will be correct, and up to now, they’ve been way off, especially Intellicasts forecasts.
We already know, I’m the weather guy here
Good.
Look at this image of the “weather” over Nevada, yet there are no reports of storms or rain there at all.
http://www.intellicast.com/Storm/Hurricane/PacificSatellite.aspx
I messed up. The image being shown now is for today. I should have copied the image and then posted it. Sorry. However, the original image was just not showing the apparent “clouds” over Nevada at that time, which seemed weird to me.
For what its worth, the wind up here at Lake Tahoe is at a constant 35mph with gusts well over 60mph. We live in a mobile home and the wind shook the place several times. Not a good feeling! As for any rain yet, not a drop. Its almost 60F up here so there won’t be any snow either, not even on the mountains around the lake! Water level in the lake has dropped some more too. Only small boats are able to get out of a local Keys marina up here because the channel to the lake is only 3 feet deep!
Ok, the weather forecast for today is so far off the mark its rediculous! Was supposed to rain below 8,000 ft. up to 2.00 inches, but guess what, its snowing and sticking here in South Lake Tahoe! Forecasters don’t have a clue anymore! They forecast the low to be 40F overnight, but its 35, and a heavy wet snow is starting to accumulate. Wind seems to come in waves. It’ll be calm for awhile, then it’ll blow 25 to 35 mph for a bit, then subside again. This is weird, no matter what anyone else says!
Ok, a “possible tornado” has come up on the Intellicast doppler radar image south of Fremont, CA, and east of Fremont, CA, headed NE. Second possible tornado this morning and its supposed to get worse this afternoon! HODE DON!
