Once in a Lifetime Phenomenon Recorded by a Daring Cyclist

While traveling the road in Greenwood, Indiana, a cyclist had his attention drawn by a particular light that was shining behind a storm cloud. He immediately pulled over to film the surprising event so that others could later see the marvel. The man couldn’t believe his eyes, as there was this bizarre light resembling a flashlight bouncing off a nearby cloud. It appeared as if the Gods were having an affair just above his head, so he kept recording using a mobile phone until the spectacle was over.

At first sight, the video can be confused with a movie scene or some really good CGI, but according to several sources, the event is as real as it gets. The playful ray of light is performing some briskly moves, going from right to left and so on, and since it’s cloaked by the storm cloud, we can interpret the sighting in many ways.

According to science, what we’re seeing in the video is an extremely rare event dubbed the ‘Crown Flash.’ The hypothesis says it appears as a result of sunlight reflecting off or refracting through tiny ice crystals above the crown of a cumulonimbus cloud. These ice crystals are aligned by the strong electro-magnetic effects around the cloud, so the effect may appear as a tall streamer or pillar of light. When the electro-magnetic field is disturbed by lightning flashes with the cloud, the ice crystals are re-oriented causing the light pattern to shift very rapidly and appear to ‘dance’ in a strikingly mechanical fashion.

However, not everyone buys the scientific explanation because this rare event has only been witnessed a few times so far, and further hours of study are needed to provide a conclusive answer for what is happening up there. According to skeptics, the peculiar flash of light is caused by some sort of metallic object reflecting the sun’s light, or even a device that’s ‘spitting plasma.’ We have to admit that this is indeed a bizarre and at the same time intriguing phenomenon and because of this, it’s likely that something else is happening above that cloud, other than what the scientific explanation is offering us. So what could this mystery light be?

According to another theory, this could be a secret weapon design implemented by HARP. This notion is briefly explained in an article claiming that ‘HAARP will zap the upper atmosphere with a focused and steerable electromagnetic beam. It is an advanced model of an “ionospheric heater.” The ionosphere is the upper electrically-charged sphere surrounding Earth’s upper atmosphere. It ranges between 40 to 60 miles above the surface of the Earth.’

‘Put simply, the apparatus for HAARP is a reversal of a radio telescope; antenna send out signals instead of receiving. HAARP is the test run for a super-powerful radiowave-beaming technology that lifts areas of the ionosphere by focusing a beam and heating those areas. Electromagnetic waves then bounce back onto earth and penetrate everything, be it living or dead.’

Now that you bear all concepts in mind, it is up to you to decide what this mysterious phenomenon really is. Whatever the case may be, it definitely looks spectacular and we should be glad that someone had quick enough eyes to record the event and share it with the world.
