Open Letter to Ecuadoran President Correa for Julian Assange

Dear President Correa,

It was great to see you on Julian Assange’s show “The World Tomorrow”.  It seems that another American country has another great leader in the tradition of Hugo Chavez.  As a retired military officer who has come to know and deeply understand macro-economics, I have become familiar with the imperial crimes my government has committed from right-wing death squads and torture via the U.S. government’s School of the Americas, to the rape of nuns, the torture and murder of priests and the mass execution of civilians.

Because of this I have denounced my government and have watched my nation’s descent into totalitarianism via a press that has become a mutant creation whose DNA has come from a marriage between fascist government and global corporatism.  We no longer have a democratic republic and as our nation’s people have been fed a diet of propaganda from this mutant media, it has infected Americans thinking, beliefs and intelligence.  Torturers and mass-murdering war criminals now rule us.

A great majority of Americans, those who have looked for the truth and found the pure anti-imperial and anti-corporate media to sustain us, applaud your consideration to save Julian Assange from a vicious monstrosity.   As our government becomes more militant, offensive, and unilateral it has begun waging a war of tyranny in a Nazi-like systematic way to marginalize dissent and crush popular peoples’ movements for the sake of globalist interests.

Millions of Americans now see our nation as an oppressive, tyrannical, torturing and murdering police state.  It brings great shame to our nation that media and news celebrities must seek refuge, as we have become a nation where tyrants and their pronouncements have ruled us as opposed to the law and justice being the king.
 

I agree with your statements during your interview on Assange’s show in which you discuss the importance of great leadership to advance the interests of your people and societies across the globe through justice, as opposed to using tyranny and oppression to advance the interests of the few at the expense of the many.  You are undoubtedly a great stateman and patriot.  
 

As I watched the video “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised” regarding the attempted coup against Hugo Chavez and learn of the attempted coup against you, I was ashamed at how controlled my fellow countrymen are by the media.  It was not until I listened to a rap song by and artist called Lowkey that I learned about the attempted coup in your country.  In the rap song Lowkey says:

Was the bigger threat from Osama or from Obama?
Military bases from Chagos to Okinawa
I say things that other rappers won’t say
Cause my mind never closed like Guantanamo Bay
Hope you didn’t build a statue or tattoo your arm
Cause the drones are still flying over Pashtunistan
Did he defend the war? No! He extended more
He even had the time to attempt a coup in Ecuador
Morales and Chavez, the States are on a hunt for ya
U.S. Military now stationed on bases in Columbia
Take a trip to the past and tell em I was right
Ask Ali Abunimah or Jeremiah Wright
Drones over Pakistan, Yemen and Libya
Is Obama the bomber getting ready for Syria?
First black president, the masses were hungry
But the same president just bombed an African country

 

I marvel that there are nations with leaders so great that they are able to mobilize the entire countries to resist the tyranny of the rich and powerful who have had control of all the resources they used to reorder society based on a fascist model that used oppression and tyranny.

As I watched the video “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised” I was able to see the free use of the media and discover how it cries “Censorship” while being openly used to gather political support and then conduct and direct treason against the people of Venezuela and Ecuador.  The only censorship that occurred in the media was outside your country as the corporatist and Zionist-controlled media filtered, manufactured, and silenced events so that the people in the U.S. were entirely unaware of the facts and truth.

I look forward to one day visiting your nation and feeling free and protected by a government that seeks transparency, truth and justice so that people may really be free.  As an educated man who holds a PhD in economics, I am sure you are aware of the Goethe’s saying in which he states: “No people are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free.”  Such is the case with the American people.
 

Thank you for standing up against the crimes of colonialism and empire.  Selling out and betraying your nation would have been highly profitable for you, but you as an enlightened leader understand that humanity needs to be helped through a dark time in human history.  Julian Assange helped spread light so that people may see what forces are arrayed against them.  Please help him.  May God bless you and your people.
