April 9, 2012 – Shall be as gods

Genesis 3:5 (KJV)

 ⁵For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

gods – H430 אֱלֹהִים ʼĕlôhı̂ym el-o-heem’ Plural of H433; gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative:—angels, X exceeding, God (gods) (-dess, -ly), X (very) great, judges, X mighty.

For some reasons mankind keeps falling for this lie.

It isn’t enough that we His children endowed with the implied authority of being children of the Most High.  And, after the Upper Room, it doesn’t seem appealing enough to have the Holy Spirit, who literally emanates from the Father, inside of us.  The enticing sales pitch of being as gods with the power to create, destroy and manipulate life (biological and mechanical) keeps entrapping men and women of all ages.

Whether through science or the supernatural the influence of the fallen angels upon mankind continues not only unabated but has accelerated.  The Lord God intervened once when the Tower of Babel brought humanity too close to interaction with the Divine in Genesis 11:1-8.

There will be no such intervention this time to stop mankind from doing the impossible.
