Gulf Oil Spill Corexit Maker Nalco Behind West Virginia Water Crisis Curtain

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Nalco, owner and producer of the dispersant Corexit, also effectively owns the patent and all rights to the frothing process used for the chemical creating havoc in West Virginia, “Crude MCHM,” that government has failed to regulate Freedom Industries has had carte blanche to apply, reminiscent of the catastrophic Gulf of Mexico oil scandal.

Nalco’s chemical dispersant Corexit is the mixture of compounds secretly applied to the Gulf region since BP and Transocean’s April 2010 oilrig explosion and the subsequent ongoing oil volcano eruption.

Nalco applied to the patent office on behalf of the inventors, to use “at least 4-methyl cyclohexane methanol” to clean coal with a froth flotation method. This method separated particles of different sizes by washing them with a frothy solution.

The froth bubbles lift unwanted particles, such as dust, to the surface, where it can then be skimmed off and the particles can be separated from the cleaning solution and discarded.

Disposing the resulting sludge, including the Crude MCHM and other components; and the fate of frothing components that bind to the cleaned coal, raises health and safety questions, similar to those raised about Nalco throughout BP’s Gulf oil scandal.

State and federal agencies declared a state of emergency nine days ago and ordered over 300,000 residents in nine counties, one quarter of West Virginia’s population, not to drink or use tap water for any purpose other than flushing toilets.

West Virginia residents’ complaints and cries for help and information since the poisoned water scandal are eerily similar to those of Gulf coast residents since the oil crime occurred there in April 2010, as seen in the YouTube video below.

Nalco

Nalco was assigned the rights to the “Crude MCHM” frothing process patent, meaning they effectively own it and all rights for using the process.

Nalco Holding Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ecolab Inc.  Corexit, its oil dispersant, was widely used in the BP/Transocean/Military Deepwater Horizon oil catastrophe.

In 1994, Nalco and Exxon Chemical Company announced forming their joint venture, Nalco Exxon Energy Chemicals L.P., to provide products and services to all facets of the petroleum and natural gas industries.

Daniel S. Sanders, previous president of Exxon Mobil Chemical Company, a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil; serves on the Nalco’s (now, Ecolab‘s) board.

On 9 December 2003, the private equity group consisting of the Blackstone Group, Apollo Management LP and Goldman Sachs Capital Partners collaborated to acquire Ondeo Nalco Company from Suez SA for US$4.2 billion… In July 2011, Nalco announced a merger with Ecolab, Inc., and it became a wholly owned subsidiary of Ecolab Inc. in December 2011 after the completion of the US$5.4 billion acquisition by Ecolab.

The Center for Responsive Politics documents Nalco Company Political Action Committee financial contributions to political candidates, with 2010 contributions to Judy Biggert (R-IL), Charles Boustany (R-LA), Dan Lipinski (D-IL), John Shimkus (R-IL) and Dick Durbin (D-IL). The CRP also lists Nalco Holding Company’s spending on lobbying, including $160,000 in 2010 to Ogilvy Government Relations to lobby on their behalf to the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate, the Department of the Interior, and the Environmental Protection Agency between April 1 and June 30 of 2010, on ‘issues related to the use of corexit 9500 in the Gulf of Mexico oil spill’.” (Wikipedia)

Corexit is a product line of oil dispersants reportedly used to dissolve oil spills. It has been used in BP’s Gulf oil catastrophe in attempt to hide the oil.

It is produced by Nalco Holding Company that is associated with BP and Exxon.

Corexit is the mixture of compounds applied in the Gulf region after the April 2010 oil gusher.

Corexit was used in unprecedented quantities during the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Its use was continued and some have evidence that it is still being used today to hide the Gulf oil from one of BP’s wrecked wells in the Macondo Prospect in the Gulf of Mexico. It took months on end for the Gulf residents to learn what was in the toxic brew that was hitting them through water, air and land.

Same holds true today in regards to the chemical poisoning West Virginians.

Nalco in the Gulf

In February 2009, Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway increased its holdings to 9 million, making it the second-largest holder of BP oil-related Corexit manufacturing company, Nalco. (1)

Nalco was affiliated with the Argonne Program at University of Chicago, under auspices of the U.S. Department of Energy. Argonne received $164 million in federal stimulus funds in 2009. It added two new executives to their staff, one on NALCO’s payroll.

What would eventually come under the public microscope was that BP had tapped NALCO for a world supply of the oil-based dispersant Corexit 9500 to “break up oil spills,” (actually to hide oil). Rodney Chase, NALCO Board Member had served on BP’s Board with Carl Casale, Executive VP and CFO of Monsanto. (2)  From October 14, 2008 to December 1, 2011, Casale served as a Director of NALCO.

In 2012, scientific research found Corexit increases toxicity of oil in rotifers by 52 times.

“While many Gulf victims, collateral damage of the petrochemical-military-industrial complex (PMIC), bled from all orifices, the PMIC [petrochemical-military-industrial-complex] continued gassing them, combining one of the most carcinogenic substances known, crude oil’s benzene, with lethal Corexit. Benzene is a toxin released by fossil fuel oil, lethal enough for public health concern and action even without Corexit.” (Vampire of Macondo)

The government claimed that the lethal practice of applying Corexit had ended in July 2010, three months after the carpet-bombing began. By August, however, Gulf Coast residents along the coast reported that Corexit was still being applied. Residents continued to witness the carpet-bombing of Corexit, in some places, even in their back yards.

Not only that, long after government said the spraying had ceased, photographic evidence showed the Corexit dispersant had been delivered to Louisiana in military containers.

“The super weird thing was that there was acres of natural non-toxic [dispersant] rotting away, while there were 176 empty containers of COREXIT 9527A, with barge and boat dispensers right by them,” citizen reporter Cheryl Foytlin stated.

BP had bought all of the natural, organic dispersant one manufacturing company had, and ordered much more. The company manufactured what had been ordered, but BP never paid for it, crippling the entire safe dispersant manufacturer.

“Toxic air, water and food posed increasingly serious health risks to all people of the Gulf, particularly pregnant women, the elderly and people with health vulnerabilities, such as asthma and emphysema, as Dr. Gina Solomon, NRDC Senior Scientist had outlined and warned Louisianans and other Gulf Coast residents.”[3] (Vampire of Macondo)

Despite a handful of congresspersons, who tried to ban Corexit and carpet-bombing the Gulf Coast and its residents with it, using it was approved in the US by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).  That decision was called into question in 2013 following a report by the Government Accountability Project  (GAP).

The GAP alleged ‘devastating long-term effects on human health and the Gulf of Mexico ecosystem’ stemming from the use of Corexit. With the military at the helm of the Gulf oil operation, however, attempts to stop the Corexit application were doomed to failure.

Corexit has been banned in the UK since 1988. UK authorities have an approved list of products that must pass both “sea/beach” and “rocky shore” laboratory toxicity tests.  Corexit failed the rocky shore test.

“Where economic imperialism has not worked, such as Iraq and Afghanistan, the PMIC resorted to fabricating false flags for full-blown military action. Gulf coast involvement of the military, including spraying lethal poisoning, might appear analogous to Iraq and Afghanistan. It might be a logical continuation of relentless corporate criminal behavior in coal, gas, and nuclear industries and the financial sector that have acted with government collusion.” (Vampire of Macondo.)

As in the Gulf, only time will tell how many West Virginian lives are shortened by today’s water crisis. Some scientists have predicted between four million to forty million Gulf Coast residents’ lives have been or will be shortened due to the Gulf operation.

“The numbers of birds, fish, turtles, and mammals killed by the use of Corexit will never be known as the evidence strongly suggests that BP worked with the Coast Guard, the Department of Homeland Security, the FAA, private security contractors, and local law enforcement, all of which cooperated to conceal the operations disposing of the animals from the media and the public,” say a team of journalists, including Charles Hambleton, Academy Award-winning documentary director of The Cove and Jerry Cope.

That team found that the PMIC was conducting most of the Gulf animal disposal operations under cover of darkness.

Nalco got off scott free in the Gulf oil crime.

Even as the National Academy of Sciences warned about dangers of Nalco’s chemical dispersants, during the BP trial in New Orleans,  U.S. District Judge Carl Barbier dismissed all charges against Nalco.

All the usual suspects: Koch brothers, Nalco, Exxon, BP, and corrupt government officials. Stay tuned to see what other nasty entities are involved.

Incidentally, the chemical data on MCHM say it has a faint mint odor, yet residents report a strong odor of licorice. Clearly the “crude” MCHM has something else in it, that accounts for the different odor. Why hasn’t anyone picked up on this? What is it, and how dangerous is it?

      • muckracker1

According to info supplied by the river commission, afaint odor is when the stuff is in “low concentrations” A lot of lies and confusion in thi mes. the commission;s information doesn’t even mention the CDC prohibition against pregnant women consuming water with ANY amount of that chemical present.
        MSM is minimizing danger. see

Figure that ANY major corporations, especially that have to do with oil, are protected by the “elites”. Rockefeller’s Standard Oil (had another name then, I believe) was refueling German subs at night during WWII, Prescott Bush loaned Hitler the money to invade Poland, they (the Cabal, the “elites”, etc.) extended the war a year to maximize profits. They ALWAYS fund both sides, and they are too powerful to arrest. They own most governments – especially ours! As far as the MSM goes, the major news outlets are also owned and operated for the profits of the five or six “elite” families who own them. This was once illegal in this country, but enough wealth and time will buy almost anything that CAN be bought. Those “elites” have written and spoken many times about their agenda, and it includes a “depopulation agenda” identical to the one in the U.N.’s Agenda 21and the “advice” written on the Georgia Guidestones. You can find it in many many articles and other places as well – movies, for instance. They want 90% of the human population of the world DEAD – the “useless eaters” are their main targets, but those include the old, the sick, injured and disabled, non-whites, people who are too intelligent or not amenable to being made the slaves of the wealthy, especially those who are “too vocal” about it.

These people have funded and ordered the poisoning of the crops, the air, the underground water tables, the medicines and the twisted allopathic medical paradigm that medical workers are brainwashed and conditioned into believing. In fact the Medical System is America’s fourth largest killer. We’re under attack, and we have been for a long, long time. Fukushima was triggered by HAARP and quite likely an underwater smuggled nuclear bomb or two, and it’s being handled totally incompetently to make sure the radioactive pollutants it produces get into everything it possibly can. Microwave ovens, Cell phones and towers, WiFi, wireless routers, Smart Meters – the list is almost endless, and the various types of radiation are ubiquitous. What BP ALONE did in the Gulf was genocide! it should have been stopped with a military op if necessary and the owners indicted. The same goes for Fukushima; instead it was ORDERED. The Japanese people are being lied to by their own doctors as to what’s making them ill as well, and THEY were ordered to do that. We’ve been lied to about almost EVERYTHING at the very LEAST since 1913. Obama himself is now selling off piece of the country illegally to China; in fact I’m not at all sure he’s every done anything that had to do with his use of “executive orders,” which are something for a corporation to do, NOT a government (the Federal Government has been vastly expanded to the terrible detriment of the populace, also unconstitutionally – the whole government is operating illegally. No one in the government who is aware of it, however, is ABOUT to curtail his or her own power, much less that of the “elites” who assassinated three presidents and tried to kill one more, all for their own profits and power). They seem to be unconcerned about literally sterilizing, or near-sterilizing, the entire planet, so I almost have to assume that they DO have an off-world sanctuary they can go to long enough for it to be made habitable again. People who were in hidden areas of the government agencies have said that they are 50 to 100 years beyond anything available or even known to We the People. Personally I don’t see way out, much less a way to fix it.

Thank you, but as explained in personal communications, the fact that there is something else dangerous in the brew is known and is being addressed by independent rights defenders in the area, some of whom fear retaliation. What we see is both the chemical and retaliation dangers in WV, very similar to the BP Gulf oil catastrophe/crime.

Ultra important Question from Facebook user on WCHS that maybe Nalco can answer?: “I have a septic tank, (and flushed for almost 5 hours straight, and still have a chemical smell) and I was wondering how long it will take for this chemical to dissipate, and will it be safe to grow my garden this next season, or will I be growing in poison? I can the food that I grow each year, and don’t want to poison my family.. please help.”

      • Neanderthal

I think there is no honest help for you so you should move, then plant your garden.

    • Paul Brown

Lynching is against the law and immoral, but seriously, what can be done? One thing that could be done is for governors or the president to issue emergency decrees ordering state police or federal marshals to raid corporate offices to obtain information about toxic components in the hazardous chemicals we have been exposed to, and worry about legal fallout later. In fact, illegal actions by executive branches has been retroactively legalized in many cases, such as spying on the American public. In principle, the same could be done to actually benefit the people.
Can sufficient pressure be brought upon governors or the president? Yes, but whether the people have the backbone to do so is another matter.
The same applies to prosecutions. Very few banksters or Wall Street criminals or industry executives have been prosecuted for their roles in such disasters. While the laws are disgustingly lax, their actions have violated a number of important laws, and penalties can be major. So far, the few prosecutions have been very slow, and the few penalties have been very light. Strong public pressure can change that, but such pressure will only be brought f the people are mad enough to do it.
Are we mad enough yet? Probably not.

      • Neanderthal

nothing is against the law unless you get caught at it and then if you have enough money then what difference does it make, We have a problem with over crowded prisons and underfunded bank lords who do not go to prison, Underfunded was a joke.

      • Anonymous

Paul Brown – “One thing that could be done is for governors or the president to issue emergency decrees ordering state police or federal marshals to raid corporate offices to obtain information about toxic components in the hazardous chemicals we have been exposed to, and worry about legal fallout later.”

Yeah, that would have been an excellent suggestion for any NUMBER of situations in the past decade… and HOW many times has it actually happened? Yep: Zero, zip, nada, zilch. It’s not going to happen either as long as we have corporate property running the states, this fraudulent Federal Government, plus the STRONG likelihood of lots and lots of mind-controlled, brainwashed cops of ALL sorts, with 95% of ‘em plain old THUGS, except they’re armed to the teeth! With this generations (at least!) long sabotage of this country and the time and effort it’s taken even just a relative FEW of us to realize what’s really been happening, we’ve just flat been out-flanked. They’ve been preparing for this for at LEAST 200 years, and maybe a great DEAL longer! I knew the Americans of three generations ago, and Washington D.C. would have been taken BACK, and the White House would be empty except for all the lead that made all the bullet holes in the walls if that third generation back was still young and healthy. At the very LEAST, they would have marched in the MILLIONS, or TENS of millions, and simply gone in armed to the teeth and arrested all of Congress, the Executive Branch and probably a lot of appointees. They’d have taken them OUTSIDE of D.C. with all the evidence they could gather, and tried them ALL. We’ve been presented with irrefutable evidence that 99% of the so-called “government” in D.C., which is NOT about of America at all, while the government is a corporation, or two or three corporations. What as happened to use is this:

We were conditioned from birth to believe in the legitimacy of the Government and Law, as well as the inherent honesty of L.E., and then to BELIEVE the “government” when were were told we were under attack by country “X” and we had to go to war. It’s been obvious for some time now that those “wars” – illegal invasions, really – were excuses to rob the target countries blind, demoralize and pauperize the populace of each country so they can’t interfere. Meanwhile our troops are being massively irradiated (also in such a way that they expose their families to it when they come home), poisoned with MASSIVE doses of experimental vaccine ingredients, chemical weapons like aspartame and on and on and one. This way, by the time they come home they’re very, very sick, and many are dying. They are in NO shape to lead We the People of America in any kind of take-back of our country now that we realize the lies of Admiralty Law and Common Law and how they changed everything over to where they now call us “property” and “assets,” and say we didn’t HAVE to be aware that we were selling ourselves to the Banksters. We signed ALL THOSE CONTRACTS: drivers licenses, Marriage Certificates (Black’s Law defines a certificate as a proof of ownership, or a legal document stating ownership – of US, the signers. It also defines “legalese” as a “jargon” used by lawyers, and “jargon” as a “nonsense language.” So it all means just what they WANT it to mean. This all took a very long time, and people don’t climb out of conditioning like that overnight, and by the time some of us were ready we’d been poisoned to the gills with Chemtrails, massive amounts of various types of radiation (i.e. Fukushima Beta and Gamma radiation, plus the leftovers from WWII and post WWII open-air “bomb tests” that were really exposure tests on the populace (which dropped the SAT scores in the “downwinders” by 18% or more in the first year). Add in vaccine diseases and toxins, food additive toxins, DDT, more aspartame, MSG and THAT whole list, GMOs that we knew NOTHING about for the first decade or more they were in the food supply (then add a court ruling that we HAVE NO RIGHT to choose healthy food for ourselves and our children)… I could go on like this almost until I ran out of Internet to type into. *sigh* It’s almost a victory that we’re still standing, and at least SOME OF US are getting seriously pissed of about what’s been done to us all, all unknowing!

There’s still a LOT left to be done, and I just don’t know how many of are fit, ready and willing to act effectively. Not many, it looks like at this point.
