Idiot. 39 reports of the same fireball does not equal 39 separate fireballs.

If you’re a proponent of common sense then what the hell are you doing here? I get a kick out of the potato gun group and then there’s fire and brimstone folks looking for the impending apocalypse every time the sun farts or the earth quakes….
…also, where’s the damage from these fireballs or fireball? If no damage what’s the big deal?
This single event is not the issue. The real issue is the total number of events so far this year compared to last year.
So far for 2014, there have been 308 events, which averages out to 10.6 events/day. Last year at this time, I have a figure of 6.85 events/day, but that was to Feb 16, 2013 or 47 days worth, compared to just 29 days for 2014. As you can see, the events per day have increased significantly since last year at this time.
What does it mean? Something has made the flux of fireball meteors increase quite a bit since last year and it has increased tremendously since 2005, when it was about 1.2 events/day.
Since leftover pieces of comets cause meteors, it is likely that a huge number of small, undetected comets have come into the inner solar system and have broken up and scattered their remains recently. By all indications, it has been getting worse and worse.
A theory for why this is happening has been talked about for years. It involves an object in the outer reaches of the solar system, either a large planet or a companion to the Sun, that has disturbed the Oort Cloud of comet debris that surrounds our solar system and a barrage of comets are now headed our way. The first vanguard of them have been arriving for the last few years. More are likely to show up. The danger of getting hit by one increases as the number of incoming comets increases.
Will one eventually draw a bead on the Earth and hit us? No one knows, but the odds of it happening are increasing by the day. BTW, if you haven’t heard yet, Mars will get side-swiped by a comet this coming October and it is not a coincidence!
Comets can be beautiful, but they can also be deadly. So, it is something to keep in mind and to watch for. I hope it doesn’t happen, but the odds are not in our favor at the moment.
Mars needs to be swiped a few times, that atmosphere is pitifully small for terraforming.

A young boy was taken to get stitches after being hit by pebble size meteor. An older couple were killed in their home when a meteor hit their house. A fire started in California and a couple other states by, you guessed it…another meteor. It would be nice for the public to know what meteor shower, or dust particles we’re going threw so we can try to be a little more diligent at looking up. I wonder if Mr. brilliant heard of the chunk of Meteor that blasted threw Russia causing extensive damage and sent more then a few to the hospital. Just because there is people out here, including myself trying to investigate what NASA won’t tell us…extreme weather…everything recorded in the last 2 yrs is breaking records..there’s got to be a reason but more importantly…I would love to be informed so I can make a rational decision where myself and my family is concerned.

why does every natural event have to be about god and revelations? floods, earthquakes, comets etc have been around this solar system now going on 4.5 billion years. and they will continue. why cant people just appreciate the complexity and beaurty of a natural system without injecting religious fear. furthermore any creator (god) who would be so cruel to inflict the tsunamis, floods and earthquakes, time after time on humans, all the suffering that goes along with it is, in my opinion is no god at all, but it he, or she would be a pyschopathic demented sociopath, or your common politician
The world is coming to an end for the second time. This time will be different than the last time. Just look at all the earthquakes that are happening daily. In the last 8 hours there have been seven 4.0+ earthquakes in Europe.

i follow the USGS daily, and have for decades, 4 earthquakes at 4.0 are nothing, considering on a good day there a few thousands quakes worldwide. but i think i do sence your sarcasim with the “second time the earth is destroyed”

Agree first thing I look at in the morning not unusual to have many Earthquakes around Greece and Poland.Yellowstone and the locked Fault around Vancouver Island are more of an concern.
If it skakles its a Good sign if nothing moves when it should,watch out.

Bazaboy, it might be rogue or it is just so far away in a regular orbit that we haven’t detected it yet. All it has to do is pass close enough to the spherical cloud of comets and comet debris that surrounds the solar system (the Oort Cloud.) That will dislodge a large number of comets and they will fall towards the Sun.
Conversely, it could be that an undetected dwarf star or another massive object and our Sun have formed a binary pair and they both orbit a common center of gravity. This object might periodically approach the Sun’s Oort Cloud of comet debris and dislodge some and send them flying our way. I lean towards the periodic type since this has happened before in the past. A rogue planet or star would be a one-time type of thing.
