Liar, Liar: Now Joe Biden Is Saying He Personally Advised Obama to Carry out Bin Laden Raid

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

How do you know when someone is about to throw his hat in to run for president in the United States?

How about when he tries to rewrite history and insert himself as some kind of hero who personally advised the president to “go” for it, to assassinate Bin Laden and launch the raid on his compound in Abottabad in 2011?

(Note: Before you read this, you have to pretend you believe the fairy tale that Bin Laden was even alive to “go get” in 2011. )

Via CNN:

At an event honoring former Vice President Walter Mondale, Biden said he had privately advised the President to pursue the raid on bin Laden’s compound after initially advising a more cautious approach at a Cabinet meeting.

“We walked out of the room and walked upstairs,” Biden said. “I told him my opinion: I thought he should go, but to follow his own instincts.”

That’s not what Biden has said, well, practically the whole entire time since then:

The new account is a significant departure from what he said at a Democratic retreat in January 2012.

“Mr. President, my suggestion is, ‘Don’t go,’” Biden said, according to an ABC News report from that time.

“‘We have to do two more things to see if he’s there,’” Biden recalled, though the story did not include what those two things were.

Both President Obama and Hillary Clinton have publicly discussed how skeptical Biden was about the raid prior to Biden’s new version of events.

This different version of events also contradicts what Biden has consistently said about his part in advising on the raid. Here’s another:

Tuesday’s account is also a change from an account Biden gave on NBC’s “Meet the Press” in May 2012, in which he described advising the President to follow his instincts but didn’t explicitly advise him to “go” for it.

His version also, magically, contradicts Hillary’s version of events which is perfect if, say, he decided to run for president against her.

Biden also said Tuesday that only two people in the meeting were definitive in their advice to the President, contradicting Clinton’s account of how she supported the mission.

There were “only two people who were definitive and were absolutely certain,” he said, referring to the men who were, respectively, the director of the CIA and the secretary of defense at the time. “Leon Panetta said, ‘Go,’ and Bob Gates — who has already publicly said this — said, ‘Don’t go.’ And others were at 59/41.”

In her 2014 book “Hard Choices,” Clinton writes that she was an immediate supporter while Biden “remained skeptical.”

Then again, as fake as the entire thing is, it’s probably hard for all of the players involved to keep their B.S. straight.

As mentioned, you’d have to actually believe the official story that Bin Laden didn’t have marfan syndrome, a degenerative genetic disease, and wasn’t already languishing in a Dubai hospital on a kidney dialysis machine back in 2001 long before the U.S. even invaded Afghanistan to believe any of this anyway.

P.S. –

Other accounts from 2000-2001 claimed that Osama was also suffering from Hepatitis C and had only two more years to live. Despite all these health problems, on Saturday the White House released video footage of Bin Laden which it claimed was filmed in fall 2010, although the clips show a younger and healthier looking Osama compared with video footage from 2001…
