Asking for referrals is the number one way to grow your Airess business. But asking for referrals is also the one thing most direct sales people are initially afraid of. They’re afraid of bothering a good friend or family member or coming across as too pushy, or only caring about their new business.

While that can certainly be the case, if you ask for referrals the right way – and with good intention – it won’t be a bother to anyone. In fact, they’ll want to help you connect with other who may want to join your business or even become your #1 customer!

The trick here is you can’t assume your favorite clients or best friends will spread the word about your business. Even if they love their new Lip Stain they bought from you in every color, it may not dawn on them to share the info with their friend group. So you have to ask for referrals.

So the first trick is to actually ask for referrals, but when and how?

You want to first make sure your customer is happy with her products. Does she know how to use her airbrush system? Have you taken the time to answer her questions about the system and ensure she’s a pro at airbrush makeup? Once you know she’s satisfied with her new products, that’s when you should ask for referrals.
