My Angels are a Part of Everything

That is everything in MY life.  They are a part in how I have raised my kids.  They are a part of my relationship to my wife.  They are a part of everything I have.  And to a great degree, they are in all that I am and have become.  A good example of this is something as materialistic as the monitor on which I am typing this post.  I bought a new monitor this past week.  I was shopping for what I considered to be the best computer monitor I could find.  I didn’t want a 32-inch monitor because it would take up too much space.  I  knew that a 27-inch would be perfect for my desk.  I had been using a 23-inch monitor that I bought about four years ago.  I have never had a monitor fail on me.  I just replace them as monitors get better.  This company that made my 27-inch monitor made one that is almost like it for gamers.  I didn’t need all the connections.  And I didn’t need to pay some $75 extra for USB ports, extra HDMI ports, and even audio inputs and outputs.  All I needed was one HDMI connection and they all come with VGA.  I didn’t consider this company because I thought their monitors were just too expensive and were designed with gamers in mind. 

Well, to make a long story short, I feel I paid about the least I could possibly pay for a very good, if not excellent monitor.  And THAT is my point.  It’s just an example of how my finances come into play when it involves something I feel I have to have.  My eyes are not as good as they were and I notice that all my computer monitors have increased in size as the years have progressed.  But fortunately for me, anyway, it seems that the availability of bigger monitors haven’t been at the premium prices.  I don’t think I need anything bigger than this 27-inch monitor.  But who knows? 

My point is that we can afford to buy what I consider to be best for my needs, especially as I get older.  I never thought we would ever own an SUV, for example.  But about a year ago we got one with all the safety bells and whistles available on most any car at the time.  I’m always thinking that regardless of what I have needed due to any age requirements, we have always been able to afford what I think we have needed.  I don’t like extravagance of most any kind.  But sometimes our needs outweigh what we might otherwise make do.  And the timing always seems to be just about perfect when it comes to how we spend our money.  It seems we are always getting good deals on things we feel I must have.  I am thinking now that my laptop is some six years old and I will be replacing it sometime in the next couple of years if the motherboard and other important electronics on it will last that long.  But already I have been looking, but not really interested in buying, because this one does all I need it to do and does it all quite well.  It’s one of the more expensive laptops on the market, but it’s durable.  And as long as everything works on it, I will keep it for about as long as I can.  Even new models like this one don’t have as big of a hard drive as this one.  I have tweaked this laptop over the years, and in my thinking it’s not much different for a new one and in some ways, even better. 

Well, I am not sure what this one is this morning as I write this, but I keep thinking that no matter what it is I HAVE to HAVE, it seems there will always be a way.  And THAT is what I want to say this morning.
