Astonished at the Growing Rash of Unfounded Terror-based articles on EBOLA which are 'spreading like wildfire' around this and other like forums.

The crazy and growing ‘rash’ of misinformation about the very limited and localized (western and central Africa) cases of the EBOLA virus is breath-takingly infuriating to the serious researcher and critical thinker.

I know from the content of the last several I have read that one of three things are so:

1)  the writers of the articles have NOT spent a long afternoon or a few evenings actually reading and learning all about the full 40-year history of the virus in order to understand its extremely limited factual basis (thus far), or

2) the writers don’t know the facts and don’t care – they are just writing from their own emotional terror, or

3) the writers may or not know the facts, but they have a vested interest (paid, political, of otherwise) of spreading unreasoned terror to the general panic-prone readership.

As one educated professional researcher, let me say that I have reseaarched the known facts about the EBOLA virus and it is NOT what these many terror-based articles are telling you it is.

In summary, if the EBOLA virus could find its way onto non-African shores, the average person would have the same chances of catching it as you would the HIV/AIDS viruses.  This is because EBOLA is only transferred by bodily fluids and it is NOT AIRBORN.  Endless speculation about the possibility that TPTB will weaponize it or any other pathogen does not change the simple unterrifying facts.

If you are genuinely concerned about EBOLA, then spend the few hours time and read up on it and its short and limited history and you will be able to easily determine that almost all of these EBOLA articles seem designed to terrorize the uninformed.

Just a few more inconvenient facts before quitting:

* the idea that EBOLA can ‘spread like wildfire’ and ‘kill millions quickly’ and that ‘it is already all around us and we can’t see it;’ is TOTAL FEAR-MONGERING CRAP! It really makes me angry and it will you too if you study into it.

*as with the beginning of AIDS, EBOLA originally was transmitted from animals to humans. In the case of EBOLA, monkeys/primates infected local jungle villagers (Zaire/Congo) who hunt and eat them.  Intimate family members and close contacts became infected and when hospitalized spread the virus to others there through shared needles and materials, lack of sanitation, and untrained staff. Of the few hundred infected in these early cases, approx. 72% died.

*Of the few doctors/researchers that have managed to unwisely leave the outbreak area, just that one person who contracted it (and perhaps one unprotected nurse) died as a result–not a tremendous onslaught plague to those around them.  WHY?  Again, because (like HIV) no close contact and bodily fluids (saliva, sweat, semen, etc.) were exchanged.

* the current outbreak in three west African countries constitutes ONE-THIRD of all known cases ~1200 of ~3500 since 1976 out of which 673 have died of the current outbreak bringing the current deathtoll to 2221 since 1976.  Compared that to AIDS/HIV ‘epidemic’ and how do they compare numerically?

* the actual % of total deaths from infection is ~62% – not the ‘up to 90%’ (only a few smaller outbreaks) which is always touted to maximum effect.

iIN SHORT, BE KNOWLEDGEABLE, DON’T WORRY, JUST BE CAREFUL, AND PRAYERFUL FOR THE LIMITED NUMBER OF VICTIMS OF THE EBOLA VIRUS.
