A Display of Liberal Cruelty and Ignorance

Christian Adams over at the PJ Tatler notes a Los Angeles “art” exhibit which, among many blasphemous depictions of Jesus Christ, has a painting of Sarah Palin being nailed to a cross.  Normally, one would not like to even mention it – why give any further publicity to such people?  But as an illustration of the way liberals are, this is priceless.

First off, the nauseating hatred.  A crucifixion has few equals in horror as a means of execution.  The Romans were very hard people and when they decided to execute, they wanted to ensure maximum suffering on the part of the condemned as an object lesson to anyone else who planned to violate either Roman law, or Rome’s power to rule.  Death on a cross is a drawn out, painful death – it can take hours to days to die, all the while in increasing and excruciating pain…and if it does take a day or two, then you add to that both thirst and hunger.  In order to contemplate – even in theory – doing something like that to another human being you have to be one cold, mean person.  You have to be a person who simply does not have the capacity to feel pity.

Secondly, the rank ignorance of Christianity.  We Christians speak of the “royal road of the cross”.  The implement designed by cruel men for bad purposes was turned by Our Lord in to the vehicle of our salvation.  When St. Peter was to be crucified he asserted he wasn’t worthy to die in the same manner Jesus had died – the Romans obliged him by crucifying him upside down.   St. Francis once stated that he wasn’t worthy to even be under the shadow of the Crown of Thorns Jesus bore in his crucifixion.  To crucify a Christian – should you desire to do that act – means you are awarding that Christian the most sublime and honorable form of martyrdom.  Any Christian such a thing happened to – and especially if they endured it with even the smallest amount of Jesus’ fortitude – would be a man or woman to be honored for the ages.  There can be no more honorable exit from this world than to courageously accept martyrdom in Jesus’ name.  So, cruel liberals, if you did crucify Sarah Palin (or any of the others you hate on the right), you’d actually be doing her a favor…and, of course, also doing your soul a great deal of damage (which, naturally, the Christian you are setting out to kill would pray that you would be spared from).

Cruelty and ignorance – the twin sons of liberal despair.  That is all we get out of them these days.  Incapable of mercy, incapable of selfless devotion, incapable of even realizing how badly they need a Savior, our poor liberals go about distorting our world…a world already made hard enough by sin is now deliberately made worse by liberals who are so filled with hate that beauty must be effaced, lest it remind liberals that there is something better and greater than them selves.

While we must contend with the liberals and we must defeat them and drive them forever out of power, always remember to approach them with a sense of pity.  They are in so desperate need of help and yet they don’t see it – indeed, they refuse to see it.  Prayers must be offered for them.  When they say or do something especially nasty, hold your tongue and try a gentle answer.  We cannot, perhaps, convince all of them to change.  We might not even be able to pull even a few away from liberalism, but it is our duty to try as much as we can and as often as it takes.  Eternal souls are at stake here, not any piddling thing like whom the next President will be.
