Mitt Romney - and the "oath" before God - demanded of him

I find it very unfortunate and phoney that Senator Mitt Romney used a “religious claim” as his excuse to vote against President Trump, a man that Almighty God obviously saw fit to be elected to the position of President of the United States, Romney said: “Does anyone seriously believe I would consent to these consequences other than from an inescapable conviction that my oath before God demanded it of me?” . . . Yes Senator Romney, I do!

Mitt Romney’s excuse as the motive for his claim was – that President Trump was guilty of the claim made by the House managers. This was based on Romany’s biased opinion and along with obvious spite, but was not based on a “conviction of an oath before God.” Fact; the conviction may have been in Romney’s mind, but “God” did not demanded anything from Mitt Romney.

Romney also tried to justify his motive by saying, “As a Senator-juror, I swore an oath, before God, to exercise “impartial justice.” I am a profoundly religious person. I take an oath before God as enormously consequential. I knew from the outset that being tasked with judging the President, the leader of my own party, would be the most difficult decision I have ever faced. I was not wrong.

Romney’s action became and will remain “enormously consequential” but the result is a self inflicted wound against him that remains for the rest of his life and as long as he remains a member of the US Senate. Did he really use “impartial justice” as he was the only “one” Republican Senator to vote the President guilty?

Here are at the legal reasons by definition that Mitt Romney failed to observe:

Impartial - Favoring neither; disinterested; treating all alike; unbiased; equitable; fair, and just. – Black’s Law Dictionary, 6^th Edition pg 516.

Justice – [The] proper administration of law. In jurisprudence, the constant perpetual disposition of legal matters or disposition to render every man his due. – Black’s Law Dictionary, 6^th Edition pg 599.

Jurisprudence – The philosophy of the law, or the science which treats of the principles of positive law and legal relations. – Black’s Law Dictionary, 6^th Edition pg 595.

Due – Just; proper; regular; lawful; sufficient; reasonable, as in the phrase “due care,” “due process of law,” due notice.” – Black’s Law Dictionary, 6^th Edition pg 345.

Anyone can see by reading the above definitions that it is very easy to determine (according to acceptable law), that “Justice” is simply the proper administration of law, and that “Impartial” is favoring neither; disinterested; treating all alike; unbiased; equitable; fair, and just. Read the above definitions again!

Romney said he made an oath to God to be “unbiased” and to determine “justice” in the proper administration of law. But, Romney was NOT asked by oath to involve or add his own belief, religion, his conjecture, his opinion, to be biased, or involve his own self-righteous principles in judgment of another. All Senators are required to consider the well-being of America first, the American people, the majority of the people of the State from where he was elected. For Utah, Senator Romney failed to do all of these.

Romney said, “This verdict is ours to render. The people will judge us for how well and faithfully we fulfilled our duty. The grave question the Constitution tasks senators to answer is whether the President committed an act so extreme and egregious that it rises to the level of a “high crime and misdemeanor.”

No Senator Romney, “not ours” you were the only one that said “Yes, he did.”

Senator Romney’s statement is indicative,  it was his own private opinion” and only “his” verdict. He was biased, and therefore he violated the oath he made to God to be “unbiased.” No civil law was broken and no constitutional or criminal law was broken by the President. NO CITIZEN IN AMERICA CAN VIOLATE THE LAW OR BE JAILED IF HE ASKES ANYONE TO LOOK INTO ANY MATTER FOR ANY REASON. To do so is NOT a Crime even for the President of the United States – for simply trying to find the origin of criminal actions perpetrated upon his presidency from the very beginning, (even before his oath of office). This becomes even more understandable and reasonable when the criminals are rooted deep in the FBI, CIA, the House of Representatives, the Senate, and even deep in the Justice Department of the United States actively conspiring against the elected the elected President. With few helping him to clean the swamp.

Furthermore, it is important, that everyone should also know that nothing that the President was accused of violated any of “Gods” laws. Man-made religious laws based upon one’s own biased opinion, or upon personal standards does not make it God’s law. Nothing that the President was accused of by the scheming members of the House violated a law. To Romey’s statement, “The grave question the Constitution tasks senators to answer is whether the President committed an act so extreme and egregious that it rises to the level of a “high crime and misdemeanor.”

Romney’s answer was “Yes he did.” But 52 Senators voted “NO” he did NOT. Romney violated his oath before “God” because his answer was not based upon the law, but because he was “biased.” For this reason, he became subject to spurn and rebuff that remains with him . . . . Unless he corrects the wrong he did to the President appointed by God, to the Senate, to the people in the State of Utah, and to America.

Romney’s “yes he did” admitted he used his own opinion and conjecture (apart from the law) to color his own mind by deciding to vote the President guilty. He may not have agreed with the action of the President, or what lead the President to discover the truth about what was perpetrated against him for over 3 years, but he should have. Romney was asked to determine a violation of “criminal Law” that was NOT biased on his “opinion.”

If Mitt Romney would apologize in an “official News” announcement” to President Trump, and to the Senate for having been biased in his vote of guilty, and for using his own emotions in judgment, I believe he will be forgiven by the American people, the President, and by God. He will then be accepted for being a real man of courage, a respected Senator like Orrin Hatch was. He could again be trusted as impartial, and able to make a decision without being biased, remembering, we all make mistakes. Romney now remains “out-of sync” with Almighty God, the Senate and with most Americans. His action is correctable, but only he can correct it.

Does anyone think that Senator Mitt Romney is strong enough, wise enough, and man enough do the right thing? All great Senators must be able to see the entire big picture for America, and never be biased, self serving or by always looking through others with colored glasses. We should always remember – when you point your finger at another, three fingers will always be pointing back to you!
