The Bible doesn’t teach that the Spirit is a ghost, that’s true. Spirit is spirit, and the Holy Spirit does not haunt people and is not a former human. Yet the Spirit certainly is one Person of the Trinity.
People have difficulty understanding the concept of three in one, but it’s just like any 3-D object: height, width, and depth. It takes all three aspects to make one object, and no one dimension is identical to the others. Yet no matter how you turn or position the object, it still has those three essential qualities. So it is with God; there are three distinct Persons yet it takes all three to make one God.

The Spirit of the Father is not a person in the Godhead, there is no trinity, that dogma was created at the end of the 4th Century by the gentile Roman Catholic church.

The Trinity is what I see in the scriptures. For example, consider the moment Jesus was baptized; there was the voice of God from heaven and the Spirit descending like a dove. So all three Persons, each of whom is clearly described as God in the New Testament, are present at once. And Jesus baffled the religious leaders when he quoted David saying, “The Lord said to my Lord, ‘Sit here until I make your enemies your footstool’.” I believe God is a Trinity because of scripture alone, and I care nothing at all for catholic dogma.

As I explained, I see the Trinity in the scriptures; I consulted no other writings. God is spirit; the only aspect of God that is flesh is Jesus, who took on human flesh at a point in time. So the fact that the Holy Spirit is spirit should come as no surprise.
Re. the Greek word “pneuma”, it has the semantic range of spirit, breath, and wind. Another example of Greek words with various English meanings is “uranos”, meaning either sky or heaven. And in those cases, the precise meaning comes from the immediate context. And as the NT shows, the Holy Spirit is treated as a Person. Jesus even said that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is an unforgiveable sin. And it is this same Spirit who the angel Gabriel told Mary would “overshadow” her to conceive Jesus.
You keep using the English word “ghost” as if I’m talking about a disembodied human soul, so this is really burning a straw man. Look up “pneuma” in any good lexicon, such as te Liddel & Scott, to see the semantic range. And if John the Baptist testified that he saw the Spirit descending LIKE a dove, then we’d have to call him a liar if we don’t believe it.

The Spirit of the Father is the Seed of the Father, it is that Holy Seed that is given with the laying on of hands after repentance and baptism to the Saints of God, it is the down payment towards eternal life. In the Seed – the Spirit – is eternal life. Read Romans 8: 9 -11.

I am going to bed, but here are a few more problems for a trinity.
In 2 Timothy 1: 6, 7 Paul says:
6 “Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.”
7 For God hath not given us “the” spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
The gift of God, that free and unearned gift, that was given to Timothy came by the putting on of Paul’s hands: by the laying on of hands Timothy received the Holy Spirit which is not the spirit of fear but of power and love and a sound mind. What was given Timothy is the very same Spirit that ONE SPIRIT that raised Jesus Christ from the dead. See Ephesians 4: 4 and Romans 8: 9 – 11.
Philippines 1: 19
19 “For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,”
I will ask; how is your SUPPLY of the “person” that has no name except wind and spirit.
Paul’s salvation comes through the prayers of the Body of Christ and through the measure or amount or quantity of the Holy Spirit of the Father within Paul.

I hope that this small sample of the many references to the Holy Spirit as a Person, yet also as God, is enough to convince you that Modalism is a false teaching, and that God is indeed Three in One. You cannot commit unpardonable sin against the wind; you cannot grieve a mere attribute. It is Jesus who sent the Spirit, not Paul.

I do NOT use the word “ghost” either. And the Trinity is NOT a pagan concept, since it comes straight from scripture as I showed you. And if you say the Father, Son, and Spirit are all the same person, then who spoke to Jesus at his baptism? To whom did Jesus pray while on this earth? Did Jesus promise to send himself when he told the disciples he’d send the Spirit as a Comfortor? It’s ridiculous to think they’re all the same person, as is taught in Modalism.
You have to ignore large portions of scripture to believe in Modalism. It isn’t that I “don’t get” the idea, it’s that I reject it. Read the WHOLE New Testament and you’ll see that God is indeed a Trinity, straight from the scriptures and NOT catholic or pagan dogma. But I’ve explained it the best I can, so I don’t see much point in trying further.

But since you believe the Father and Son are two Persons, then why not a third? Clearly the Spirit is a person as shown in the verses I quoted. You cannot grieve a thing or an idea, but only a person. And you cannot blaspheme anyone but God. Therefore, the Spirit is a Person, and that Person is God, just as the Father is also God, and Jesus is also God.
