“Hell” (means the grave) it is the place the body goes after death

There is no place as an everlasting or eternal place of fire and torture called “Hell” for the wicked, the unbeliever, or for the unrepentant sinners. The Hebrew word “Sheol” is sometimes translated as “Hell” in English translations, but the word “hell” by Hebrew definition means; “grave” or “place of the dead.” It is the same place for both the good and the wicked. The plain fact is everyone goes to “hell” (the grave) after death. If there was really a place of “eternal torture” like hell then even the wicked would also have “eternal life” right? but maybe not in the most desirable of places….!

The Hebrew Scriptures do not contain the concept of the “Christian” eternal Hell. Most new translations have completely eliminated the word “hell” from the Hebrew Bible as honest and better scholarship has demanded. They are now substituting “hell with the correct word “grave.” The importance of this fact cannot be over-emphasized. If a new doctrine does not appear as “seed form” in the foundational book the Hebrew Bible, i.e. the Prophets, the Law, the Psalms, the Writings, etc., we should not use it or teach it as a foundational doctrine supported in Scripture. Only Christianity has an eternal “Hell-fire” and the Romans took this false belief to great advantage in the attempt to scare people into their Roman Catholic Church system. Nothing has changed.

Judgment and reward according to the Hebrew Bible:

Built into the heart of most every individual, in almost every society, and in most all religious belief systems, we will find a sense of accountability and a basic fundamental need to believe that the righteous will be rewarded and the wicked will be punished.  This confirms a need and expectation for judgment as well: “Far be it from You Yahweh (G-d) to do such a thing . . . treating the righteous and the wicked alike. Far be it from you! Will not the Judge (Yahweh) of all the earth do right?” (Genesis 18:25) “I Yahweh search the heart and examine the mind, to reward a man according to his conduct, according to what his deeds deserve,” (Jeremiah 17:10). “Does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay each person according to what he has done?” (Proverbs 24:12).

Yahweh (G-d) of the Hebrew Bible has written his moral law or code on the hearts of all man-kinds, it is part of the natural “General Law” (the scientific law) that is given by Yahweh to regulate and establish some basic order in society. Within each there is found an inborn sense, that all will be judged in light of Yahweh’s (G-d’s) “General Laws.” Yahweh (G-d) is fully aware of every aspect of our lives and will overlooks nothing in our judgment, except He will overlook the sin of the repentant sinner. Nothing in all of creation is hidden from His sight. Everything is uncovered and must lay bare before him to whom we must give account. “For Yahweh will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or bad,” (Ecclesiastes 12:14). There will be a time of judgment for all in the age to come, at a place and in a time known only to the Almighty Sovereign Creator Power Yahweh of all.

Salvation/redemption that brings eternal life was Yahweh’s gift to the ancient Israelites. It is now available for the stranger, (non-blood Israelites) and for all who become True Israelites (Isa. 56). Eternal life is free to all upon sincere repentance before Yahweh (G-d) for sin; by accepting and then keeping the Renewed Covenant that comes to be written in the hearts of all True Israelite believers. Because of their gratefulness each will worship Yahweh only (NO OTHER). At the end of this life each can then look forward to eternal life, to be with Him and remain forever faithful members of His heavenly house-hold, dwelling in the far reaches and endless vastness of Yahweh’s eternal Universe; to partake in His plan for us in His Kingdom, and to join with the innumerable hosts of His endless Universal house-hold.

The bodies of everyone do eventually turn to dust after death, i.e. the body goes to hell (the grave) and the Soul of the unrepentant wicked simply ceases to exist. But to those that belong to Yahweh (G-d), the soul continues forever within a new and glorious form, and forever each believer will be with their Almighty Creator. Where will you be going?
