VIDEO. Home Office breaks silence on "Less Lethal' Water Cannons. Mayor of London buys the Metropolitan Police?.

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

In an Open Letter penned, by The Metropolitan Peace, to The Home Secretary Teresa May on the 11th January this year, serious concerns were raised regarding the request, by the Metropolitan Police for Water cannons to be authorised during ‘austerity protests’. This was published by us under the headline

Will Boris Johnson succeed where Hitler failed?. German heavy anti personnel armour to be deployed on Britain’s streets.

The full article (see link below) goes into great depth over the motives behind the water cannon, it’s ‘hidden’ features (such as the compartments where chemical solutions can be added to the water), the fact that it HAS killed and blinded victims. The article also goes into the Ziegler Wasserwafer 9000′s ineffectiveness during a ‘riot’, as this was the initial justification for it requirement although we have since learned that, instead of addressing the issues causing the unrest of British citizens, it is to be used to suppress the British citizen in what Boris the Bloat describes as ’violent austerity protest’.
I’m going to leave aside that we, the British Public, are all being told that Britain’s economy is ‘recovering’, so in fact there should be no austerity protests if the Government are to be believed. Or are the Government about to impose even harsher financial burdens on the, already crippled, British people?. Do they know something we don’t know?. Something that would make us all turn violent to the point that water cannons are needed to overwhelm the protesters?. Because if that is the case,.. shouldn’t the British Public be brought up to speed on these fears?

The response from the Home Office however, is totally inadequate as you will read.

My most serious misgiving about what is contained within the response is the use of this term ‘less lethal’.  If something is less lethal, it does not change the fact that it is STILL lethal. Water cannons have taken life and maimed in other countries. As the original article states. IT IS FASCIST, TYRANNICAL DICTATORSHIPS WE SEE ON OUR NEWS FEEDS USING THESE WEAPONS OF INDISCRIMINATE INJURY and the people they are using them on are FIGHTING FOR DEMOCRACY.

It will be interesting to hear Dietrich Wagner, the German protester blinded by the Wasserwafer 9000, speak at the public meeting at City Hall in London on the 17th to tell his story. The video alone is compelling evidence AGAINST such weaponry.  I am sure the crowds will listen in silence.
Dietrich is still trying to raise the air fare and, for once, I think there is no harm in sharing the crowdfunding link for anyone who wishes to MAKE SURE he gets here and is heard.  Much rests on that one man’s shoulders alone.

Below is a copy paste of the response from the Home Office’s Heather Kinzett, she is the ‘relevant policy lead’ whatever that is. The response only stands to reinforce the concerns being raised and addressed NONE, yes NONE if the issues raised in the original Letter. .

Mr Joe Public

10 February 2014

Dear Mr Public,

Thank you for your e-mail of 12 January to the Home Secretary regarding the possible use
of water cannon by police in England and Wales, I am replying as the relevant policy lead.
The Government is keen to ensure that the police have the tools and powers they need to
maintain order on our streets. The police, including the Commissioner of the Metropolitan
Police Service and Chief Constable David Shaw, national policing lead for conflict
management, have indicated that there are circumstances in which water cannon –
alongside other tactics – may be of use in future.

The authorisation process for ‘less lethal’ systems and technologies, which includes water
cannon, is well established and includes final sign off by the Home Secretary.
The Home Secretary’s authorisation requires the submission of detailed operational,
technical and medical information on the likely impact of the proposed system. This
includes police guidance setting out the justification for the use of water cannon, how it will
be used, the training and checks and balances in place to ensure this is effective and
proportionate. This will be informed by a community impact assessment and an
assessment by the independent Scientific Advisory Committee on the Medical Implications
of Less-Lethal Weapons (SACMILL).

The Home Secretary has not yet received a formal request accompanied by the necessary
documentation; she will make her decision on the use of water cannon by police forces in
England and Wales after receiving the authorisation package. Once the decision has been
made, a statement will be made to Parliament, and the relevant authorisation
documentation laid in the House library.

In advance of a formal request the Mayor of London has initiated a period of public
engagement in London. As part of this engagement the police have published a briefing
document which sets out how they envisage water cannon being used, this can be found
online at www.london.gov.uk.

You asked whether water cannon would be used against peaceful protesters or large
public gatherings. Peaceful protest is a vital part of a democratic society. It is a longstanding
tradition in this country that people are free to gather together and to demonstrate
their views, however uncomfortable these may be to the majority of us, provided that they
do so within the law. In the briefing document, the police are clear that water cannon would
be used to tackle the most serious disorder not in policing lawful, peaceful protests.

The briefing document also makes clear that any deployment of water cannon in England
and Wales would be based on the approach set out in the Authorised Professional
Practice and used in Northern Ireland. Since their introduction to Northern Ireland, there
have been no reported injuries from the use of water cannon.

You asked whether corporate sponsors are paying for the water cannon that the
Metropolitan Police Service are looking to purchase, subject to Home Secretary
authorisation set out above. In his letter to the Home Secretary, also published on
www.london.gov.uk the Mayor confirmed that he was happy to make the funds available to
the MPS, the information published on the website also states that “the Commissioner of
the MPS, Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe, has asked the Mayor of London for authority to
purchase three existing water cannon from the German Federal Police at a reduced cost
of around £30,000 each.”

I thank you again for your letter.

Yours sincerely
Heather Kinzett

With the country having seen (videos below) the viral videos of both the Kris O’Donnell beating at the hands of Greater Manchester Police, which was neither reasonable or justified, and the incredible attempt to, what appears to be, ‘frame’ a member of the public who was lawfully filming an arrest and yet more police brutality at Barton Moss. Brutality that is noted as being metered out to the same LAWFUL PEACEFUL PROTESTERS
and the members of the Public that Ms Kinzett refers to in her email who would never have a water cannon deployed against them exercising their Rights.

Really Ms Kinzett?. Really?.
I say that the evidence speaks for itself. The Public do not wish to have the threat of ‘less lethal’ weapons looming over their heads. They want YOU and the Government to listen to their grievancies and DO SOMETHING CONSTRUSTIVE ABOUT THEM. That is your Job.

This video documented behaviour by the Police Service alone is evidence enough that WATER CANNONS IN THE HANDS OF A FORCE ALREADY THIS BRUTAL AND DISHONEST IS TOTALLY UNTHINKABLE.

SUPPORT DIETER WAGNER, ATTEND THE CITY HALL MEETING in LONDON ON 17th FEB 2014, and PUT A STOP TO THIS NONSENSE BEFORE A LAW ABIDING MEMBER OF THE PUBLIC IS KILLED OR MAIMED BY ONE OF THESE WEAPONS OF TERROR or will the headline in our first article come prophetically true with Boris the Bribe and his ‘investors’ really succeeding in what Hitler failed to do, and that is put German Heavy anti personnel vehicles on mainland British soil.

How the British Police Service are viewed are viewed by Joe Public….

How cost effective, or how much of a bargain they are isnt the point. The point is they are being paid for by ‘Corporate’ sponsors, investors, ‘trusted partners’,.. You know, Lobbyists?. Rich folk with their own Corporate agenda’s. Agenda’s that involve harming the Public.  This ‘funding’ is a clear attempt at having influence over Policing AND it’s tactics and THAT is what is unacceptable to Joe Public

We have a LOT to think about.
