Are US Soldiers Supplying Weapons To Terrorists?

by Monica Davis

The terror suspects in Boston reported had the same kind of rifles that US soldiers in Afghanistan use. The question is: where did they get them?  Law enforcement officials point out that Tamerlan Tsarnaef and his brother Dzhokhar did not have gun permits–and thus could not purchase their weapons legally. So, where did they get the same kind of weapons that US forces use in Afghanistan?

One of the items missing in the gun rights debate is the massive amount of theft from US military armories in the US. They’re stealing antique collectible weapons from armories and some armories are so strapped for cash that they can’t afford to put burglar alarms on armories–and they can’t come up with the funds to hire security guards, either.

Puerto Rican Sen. Eder Ortiz asked Monday for an investigation into the theft of weapons from National Guard armories that has been blamed on a lack of funds to hire personnel to keep watch over its installations.

Ortiz, of the main opposition PPD, made his plea after the head of the National Guard in Puerto Rico, Maj. Gen. Antonio Vicens, acknowledged before the Senate Finance Committee that budget cuts have cause a breakdown in security and the consequent theft of armaments.    MOREHERE

So, we ask the question again: who supplied the alleged Boston Terrorists with their weaponry? Was it stolen, or, as some conspiracy theorists say, given to them to perforn a false flag operation?

Despite the discussion that the gun control debate could be dead and buried after the Senate background check measure failed on the floor last week, the investigation into the Boston bombings could demand an immediate redress of the Senate’s decision. The weapons cache recovered from the home of the Boston perpetrators was large and deadly, including M4 assault rifles, which are used by soldiers in Afghanistan. The brothers Tamerlan Tsarnaev and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev did not hold gun permits and none of these weapons were registered. While this feeds into the Republican argument that criminals will continue to avoid any checks on gun purchases Congress may put into place, it also draws attention to the Democratic argument that America has an over abundance of guns on the streets that can easily fall into the wrong hands. Furthermore, the FBI investigation into the Boston bombings and their immediate aftermath was impeded by an NRA designed legislative measure, which bans tagging agents from being included in American made gunpowder.  Known as taggants, these substances could have allowed law enforcement officials to more quickly identify the source of the homemade bombs. In the coming weeks I think we can expect the White House and Congressional Democrats to use these attacks to bring the political discussion back to gun control. MOREHERE

The bombing brothers had no way of  legally obtaining their weapons. Where did the weapons come from?

The two brothers suspected in the Boston Marathon bombings, who police say engaged in a gun battle with officers early Friday after a frenzied manhunt, were not licensed to own guns in the towns where they lived, authorities said on Sunday.

In the confrontation with police on the streets of a Boston suburb, Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev were armed with handguns, at least one rifle and several explosive devices, authorities say.  MOREHERE

Congress is patting itself on the back for trying to outlaw high capacity magazines for assault weapons.  They might take a closer look at security at national guard and military arnmories. Soldiers are stealing the magazines and trying to sell them–and the media is completely clueless because they couldn’t figure out what the theives wanted with the magasines;

Five soldiers from the 251st Military Police Company in Lexington, Tennessee have been charged with theft of almost 800 M-4 magazines.

The magazines were not loaded.

The Lexington police department told us, “National Guard representatives have indicated that ammunition is not stored at Tennessee Armories as a matter of policy.”

The intent of the theft is not known at this time. MOREHERE
