Why Women In China Do Not Get Breast Cancer

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Subject: Why women (and men) in
China don’t get breast cancer ………..

Very interesting it
makes sense, but hard for many of us to follow.

THIS IS A WONDERFUL ARTICLE  ……… PLEASE PASS IT ON
Read this, it applies to men too

Prof Jane Plant

WHY WOMEN IN CHINA DO NOT GET BREAST CANCER - By Prof. Jane Plant, PhD, CBE

I had no alternative but to die or to try to find a cure for myself. I am a
scientist – surely there was a rational explanation for this cruel illness that
affects one in 12 women in the UK ?

I had suffered the loss of one breast, and undergone  radiotherapy. I was
now receiving painful chemotherapy, and had been seen by some of the country’s
most eminent specialists. But, deep down, I felt certain I was facing death. I
had a loving husband, a beautiful home and two young children to care for. I
desperately wanted to live.

Fortunately, this desire drove me to  unearth the facts, some of which
were known only to a handful of scientists at the time.

Anyone who has come into contact with breast cancer will know that certain risk
factors – such as increasing age, early onset of womanhood, late onset of
menopause and a family history of breast cancer – are completely out of our
control. But there are many risk factors, which we can control easily.

These “controllable” risk factors readily translate into  simple
changes that we can all make in our day-to-day lives to help prevent or treat
breast cancer. My message is that even advanced breast cancer can be overcome
because I have done it.

The first clue to understanding what was promoting my breast  cancer came
when my husband Peter, who was also a scientist, arrived back from working in
China while I was being plugged in for a chemotherapy session.

He had brought with him cards and  letters, as well as some amazing herbal
suppositories, sent by my friends and science colleagues in China .

The suppositories  were sent to me as a cure for breast cancer. Despite
the awfulness of the situation, we both had a good belly laugh, and I remember
saying that this was the treatment for breast cancer in China , then it was
little wonder that Chinese women avoided getting the disease.

Those words echoed in my mind.   Why didn’t Chinese women in
China get breast cancer?
   I had collaborated once with
Chinese colleagues on a study of links between soil chemistry and disease, and
I remembered some of the statistics.

The disease was virtually non-existent throughout the whole country. Only one
in 10,000 women in China will die from it, compared to that terrible figure of
one in 12 in Britain and the even grimmer average of one in 10 across most
Western countries.
It is not just a matter of China being a
more rural country, with less urban pollution. In highly urbanized Hong Kong ,
the rate rises to 34 women in every 10,000 but still puts the West to shame.

The Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki  have similar rates. And
remember, both cities were attacked with nuclear weapons, so in addition to the
usual pollution-related cancers, one would also expect to find some
radiation-related cases, too.

The conclusion we can draw from these statistics strikes you with some force.
If a Western woman were to move to industrialized, irradiated Hiroshima , she
would slash her risk of contracting breast cancer by half. Obviously this is
absurd.
It seemed obvious to me that some lifestyle factor not related
to pollution, urbanization or the environment is seriously increasing the
Western woman’s chance of contracting breast cancer.

I then discovered that whatever causes the huge differences in breast cancer
rates between oriental and Western countries, it isn’t genetic.

Scientific research showed that when Chinese or Japanese people move to the
West, within one or two generations their rates of breast cancer approach those
of their host community.

The same thing happens when oriental people adopt a completely Western
lifestyle in Hong Kong . In fact, the slang name for breast cancer in China
translates as ‘Rich Woman’s Disease’. This is because, in China, only the
better off can afford to eat what is termed ‘ Hong Kong food’.

The Chinese describe all Western food, including everything from ice cream and
chocolate bars to spaghetti  and feta cheese, as “Hong Kong
food”, because of its availability in the former British colony and its
scarcity, in the past, in mainland China .

So it made perfect sense to me that whatever  was causing my breast
cancer  and the shockingly high incidence in this country generally, it
was almost certainly something to do with our better-off, middle-class, Western
lifestyle.

There is an important point for men here, too. I have observed in my research
that much of the data about prostate cancer
leads to similar conclusions.

According to figures from the World Health Organization, the number of men
contracting prostate cancer in rural China is negligible, only 0.5 men in every
100,000.
In England, Scotland and Wales , however, this figure is 70
times higher. Like breast cancer, it is a middle-class disease that primarily
attacks the wealthier and higher socio-economic groups, those that can afford
to eat rich foods.

I remember saying to my husband, “Come on Peter, you have just come
back  from China . What is it about the Chinese way of life that is so
different?”

Why don’t they get breast cancer?’
We decided to utilize our joint scientific backgrounds and approach it
logically.

We examined scientific data that pointed us in the general direction of fats in
diets.
Researchers had discovered in the 1980s that only l4% of calories in the
average Chinese diet were from fat, compared to almost 36% in the West.
But the diet I had been living on for years before I contracted breast cancer
was very low in fat and high in fiber.

Besides, I knew as a scientist that fat intake in adults has not been shown to
increase risk for breast cancer in most investigations that have followed large
groups of women for up to a dozen years.
Then one day something rather special happened. Peter and I have worked
together so closely over the years that I am not sure which one of us first
said: “The Chinese don’t eat dairy produce!”
It is hard to explain to a non-scientist the
sudden mental and emotional
buzz’ you get when you know you have had an
important insight. It’s as if you have had a lot of pieces of a jigsaw in your
mind, and suddenly, in a few seconds, they all fall into place and the whole
picture is clear.

Suddenly I recalled how many Chinese people were physically unable to
tolerate milk, how the Chinese people I had worked with had always said that
milk was only for babies, and how one of my close friends, who is of Chinese
origin, always politely turned down the cheese course at dinner parties.

I knew of no Chinese people who lived a traditional Chinese life who ever used
cow or other dairy food to feed their babies. The tradition was to use a wet
nurse but never, ever, dairy products.

Culturally, the Chinese find our Western preoccupation with milk and milk
products very strange. I remember entertaining a large delegation of Chinese
scientists shortly after the ending of the Cultural Revolution in the 1980s.

On advice from the Foreign Office, we had asked the caterer to provide a
pudding that contained a lot of ice cream. After inquiring what the pudding
consisted of, all of the Chinese, including their interpreter, politely but
firmly refused to eat it, and they could not be persuaded to change their
minds.

At the time we were all delighted and ate extra portions!

Milk, I discovered, is one of the most common causes of food allergies . Over 70% of the world’s population are
unable to digest the milk sugar, lactose, which has led nutritionists to
believe that this is the normal condition for adults, not some sort of
deficiency. Perhaps nature is trying to tell us that we are eating the wrong
food.

Before I had breast cancer for the first time, I had eaten a lot of dairy
produce, such as skimmed milk, low-fat cheese and yogurt. I had used it as my
main source of protein. I also ate cheap but lean minced beef, which I now
realized was probably often ground-up dairy cow.

In order to cope with the chemotherapy I received for my fifth case of cancer,
I had been eating organic yogurts as a way of helping my digestive tract to
recover and repopulate my gut with ‘good’ bacteria.

Recently, I discovered that way back in 1989 yogurt had been implicated in
ovarian cancer. Dr Daniel Cramer of Harvard University studied hundreds of
women with ovarian cancer, and had them record in detail what they normally
ate. Wish I’d been made aware of his findings when he had first discovered
them.

Following Peter’s and my insight into the Chinese diet, I decided to give up
not just yogurt but all dairy produce immediately. Cheese, butter, milk and
yogurt and anything else that contained dairy produce – it went down the sink
or in the rubbish.

It is surprising how many products, including commercial soups, biscuits and
cakes, contain some form of dairy produce. Even
many proprietary brands of margarine marketed as soya, sunflower or olive oil
spreads can contain dairy produce

.
I therefore became an avid reader of the small print on food labels.

Up to this point, I had been steadfastly measuring the progress of my fifth
cancerous lump with callipers and plotting the results. Despite all the
encouraging comments and positive feedback from my doctors and nurses, my own
precise observations told me the bitter truth.

My first chemotherapy sessions had produced no effect – the lump was still the
same size.

Then I eliminated dairy products. Within days,
the lump started to shrink.

 About two weeks
after my second chemotherapy session and one week after giving up dairy
produce, the lump in my neck started to itch. Then it began to soften and to
reduce  in size. The line on the graph, which had shown no change, was now
pointing downwards as the tumor got smaller and smaller.

And, very significantly, I noted that instead of declining exponentially (a
graceful curve) as cancer is meant to do, the tumor’s decrease in size was
plotted on a straight line heading off the bottom of the graph, indicating a
cure, not suppression (or remission) of the tumor.

One Saturday afternoon after about six weeks of excluding all dairy produce
from my diet, I practiced an hour of meditation then felt for what was left of
the lump. I couldn’t find it. Yet I was very experienced at detecting cancerous
lumps – I had discovered all five cancers on my own. I went downstairs and
asked my husband to feel my neck. He could not find any trace of the lump
either.

On the following Thursday I was due to be seen by my cancer specialist at
Charing Cross Hospital in London . He examined me thoroughly, especially my
neck where the tumor had been. He was initially bemused and then delighted as
he said, “I cannot find it.” None of my doctors, it appeared, had
expected someone with my type and stage of cancer (which had clearly spread to
the lymph system) to survive, let alone be so hale and hearty.

My specialist was as overjoyed as I was. When I first discussed my ideas with
him he was understandably skeptical. But I understand that he now uses maps
showing cancer mortality in China in his lectures, and recommends a non-dairy
diet to his cancer patients.

I now believe that the link between dairy
produce and breast cancer is similar to the link between smoking and lung
cancer.
I believe that identifying the link between breast cancer
and dairy produce, and then developing a diet specifically targeted at maintaining
the health of my breast and hormone system, cured me.

It was difficult for me, as it may be for you, to accept that a substance as
‘natural’ as milk might have such ominous health implications. But I am a
living proof that it works and, starting from tomorrow, I shall reveal the
secrets of my revolutionary action plan.

“Currently, China has 470,000 breast cancer patients on the mainland and only 20 percent of them were diagnosed at early stage, which could secure good treatment effect, said Xu Binghe, deputy director of the internal medicine department of the hospital.
He urged the general public to raise awareness and go for regular screening while reaching 40 years old to strive for early detection and treatment.
In US, 80 percent of the breast cancer patients were diagnosed at early stage, he said.
“We usually recommend these patients take breast conservative operation,” he added.” http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/china/2012-03/12/content_14814002.htm

The main reason Asian Women don’t get breast cancer is because their breast are too tiny.

    • Anonymous

I also have seen convincing studies about the link to aluminum-containing antiperspirants and breast cancer. Makes perfect sense; most women in the world don’t scrape off their underarm hair with a razor and then apply chemicals to the irritated scraped skin (so close to the lymph and breast tissue so often affected by the disease).

Is goat milk better to consume than cow milk?

      • Anonymous

Goat milk is easier to digest that Cows milk. Goat milk is naturally homogenized. The fat content breaks down very easy and is much easier to digest.

Asian cuisine in general has a lot of vegetable which is rich in anti oxidant. I think drinking a lot of tea is also a contributing factor too.

It’s not that they aren’t getting breast cancer in China becuase the generally population is uneducated about the disease. They never find out they have breast cancer or benign tumors, unless they are visible to the naked eye, even in death autopsies are rarely performed, so cause of death is often just left as natural causes. So they never go through treatment for cancer. Studies have shown that no treatment for most types of cancer is the best option, and actually has a much higher recovery% among cancer victims vs traditional breast removal and chemo. There are of course exceptions to every rule.

ice cream is my favorite food. thanks so much for this info. my doctor wants me to get a mammogram frequently. i think radiation causes cancer. i told my doctor this and he wrote in my chart that i’m a conspiracy nut. you have to wonder how cancer gets passed genetically. not one person in any part of my family has ever gotten cancer.

My wife refuses to have her boobs radiated (her words, not mine). She insist on having an ultrasound instead. When her doctor rejected the idea, my wife asked, “what is the first thing you will order if a breast xray shows a spot?” The doctor answered, “I would order an ultrasound.” So, my wife is cutting out the middle man.

Milk is NOT the problem. It’s WHAT THEY DO TO THE MILK IS THE PROBLEM.

98% of milk in the UK is HOMOGENISED which means they force the cream or butter fat segment of the milk to adhere itself to the watery segment of the milk so that the cream no longer separates itself from the watery milk.

In my younger days milk always had cream on the top of the milk, but this no longer occurs due to HOMOGENISATION.

HOMOGENISATION CREATES AN ENZYME IN THE MILK THAT THE BODY CANNOT DIGEST and herein lies the problem.

Here, here. Raw milk products from properly cared for pastured cows are excellent nutrition and a sustainable food. This lady needs to look for Deep Nutrition. Please look deeper before demonizing any food source.

Native nutrition is always best in whatever way indigenous peoples have found to sustain their best health. Unfortunately for Westerners, our food supply has been hijacked by a profit making scheme which strips natural goodness through processing for a longer shelf life. Such foods are making us weak and vulnerable to disease.

Westerners need to seriously take back control of their food supply :!:

        • yes2truth

In the UK that will mean setting farmers free from government control, which will mean waking farmers up – a near impossibility.

British wheat is sprayed 12 times with chemicals in a growing season. Farmers I have spoken to tell me that half those sprays are completely unnecessary and if given the choice they would not spray that many times. They need to start rebelling.

        • Anonymous

If enough people approach farmers with the promise to keep them in business apart from Big Agra Business, there will be more takers. The slow food movement is now happening in the US and to some degree in Canada and OZ. This is how one big raw milk healthy dairy manages to stay afloat here in CA — people vote with their continued purchases. As often as Authorities try to hinder this dairy, they get beat back with the ground swell of food activists.

The good news is people are sick of being ill and are finding that whole, native nutritional foods to be their best medicine. For all the food we have have, Westerners are actually malnourished.

Fractionated foods are the devil. Read the label — non and skim milk have dry milk solids added to give them “body” that whole milk has. Those fractionated solids are worse for you than whole milk. Homogenization and pasteurization make dead food. Even calves will fail to thrive when given the milk that has been forced on the public in the name of their health. Those processes were adopted because cramped, dirty dairy conditions lead to unhealthy cows. Give cows healthy wide pasture and clean milking facilities — problem solved  healthy milk.

Its the combination of fructose and yeast in our foods that creates the most damage, and dairy products often have added fructose and yeast from the air naturally grows very rapidly in it. Yeast and fructose cause migraines by interfering in digestion and that unbalances blood pressure throughout the body. Fructose is now emerging as the cause of obesity, as it gives us calories that are not perceived as energy, so it tends greatly to add fat. Causes all sorts of problems for women, find diets that reduce yeast infection in women and you will find the exact diet changes that create most of our disease problems. For example, the little crackers Gold Fish come with yeast sprinkled on them, because they are crackers and have sugar in them with fructose the yeast grows more rapidly then it would if they were made only with dextrose, pure glucose. The sprinkled on yeast makes them taste more cheesy but it also causes migraines, and probably many other problems as well.
Do 50% of the Chinese population get migraines like Americans — I bet they don’t and above I just told you why ? Yes, I know men are not supposed to get them at the same rate as women 50% but during the Gulf War THEY DID, so that is the most accurate record, I think.

Non-body identical hormones responsible for a lot of breast cancers (birth control); avoid meat fat, avoid blood sausage, any sausage up to 50% fat by weight. Meat fat encourages growth of intestinal bacteria that produce harmful toxins. Lean meats over ground meat. Lard, skip it. Hydrogenated fats hard on the body. Dairy fat good for you, organically grown. Avoid brominated vegetables oils, brominated & bleached flours. Bromine in foods banned in all or most of Asia where flour is the main staple for a lot of people. Bromine poisoning, of no use to the body.

And did you know . . . interrupted pregnancies also contribute to breast cancer? Be they miscarriages or abortions. That’s a big dirty secret the mills don’t want you to know. If pregnancy hormones that begin to mature the mammary glands are interrupted, cells begin to metastasize unless full maturity is achieved through breast feeding.

Smokers are also greatly at risk.

The links are simple…once you rid you mind of the medical and pharma industry lies. Cancer is a fungus. It has been all over the world, but Americans have been swallowing tons of antibiotics (prescribed and in food) for years. It strips the gut of anti-fungal “good” bacteria. Hence, we succumb to the fungus. What fungus? Candida Albicons. Common “yeast” manifests itself as “athlete’s foot”, the woman’s “yeast infection” and “dandruff”…among a multitude of skin “conditions” all attributable to yeast. It’s not easy to kill (like cancer)…because it becomes cancer. The eastern diets include fermented foods, and a myriad of “good” gut FOS-producing bacteria. Simple. Want to stop cancer? Take DDS-1 probiotics, and lower your pH. A popular organic maple syrup (real maple) and baking soda (3:1) remedy does it. As well, take cellulase to break down the fungal “cell wall”. Fungii are plants…ad have cell “walls” not membranes. Or, you can have surgery, radiation, chemo, bankruptcy and write inane articles like the one above searching for Voodoo reasons behind what the medical devils have known for 50+ years.

“Why women in China do not get breast cancer”?…. WAIT, WAIT, I KNOW THIS ONE, IT’S A TRICK QUESTION…. BECAUSE THEY DON’T HAVE ANY???

    • HereAmI

For a professor, this lady is remarkably ignorant. Or maybe it’s because she’s a professor…no professor would ever want to be told that they don’t know what they’re professing.
      But let me try.
      1. Vitamin D is intimately linked with many cancers. Specifically, a lack thereof. In the case of breast cancer, it is a sure and certain fact that it is not the primary lesion that kills you. It is the subsequent metastasis, or spreading into other organs. It is equally certain that vit D at therapeutic levels, ie upwards of 50 ng/litre, or 125 nmol/litre in Europe, arrests the spread by…wait for it….800%. Why do you think that no-one mentions this fact?
Let me tell you. The cancer industry is worth mega billions. Why would all those oncologists, radiographers, pharma companies, drug reps, mammogram-machine makers, nurses and doctors, want to bite the hand that feeds them? Would they not rather exert every effort to lure additional women into this lucrative game of death by inviting them for mammograms every year, and finding lumps, many of which are false positives but which they “treat” anyway? With drugs and radiation, BOTH OF WHICH EITHER CAUSE CANCER, or in the case of the scans, render it more likely to occur in a year or two. Or with surgery, which almost without needing further discussion, is never going to mop up all those cancerous cells. And which is simultaneously going to disfigure the woman.
      2. Turmeric. The MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas has been investigating and singing the praises of curcumin, a component of this spice, for some time now. It acts at the DNA level to downgrade the vigour of mutating cells; it has been shown to be especially effective in breast cancer.
      3. Tocotrienol gamma. This is one of the 8 variants of vitamin E. The vit E you buy will be tocopherol alpha; no good. Tocotrienol gamma is what you need. It can easily be bought online.
Any one of these three substances is highly effective. Put them together, and they exert a multiplicative effect, ie the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Add in green tea, grape seed extract, limonene-d from citrus peel, selenium, and you’re out of the woods. Stop applying underarm deos, as stated, try washing with soap and water instead. Bras are lethal, they are soaked with polybrominated biphenyls.
ps the dose for vit D starts at 5000iu/day, not the pathetic 400 iu/day which is recommended; all this will do is to prevent rickets. Ideally, get your D from sunshine.

    • HereAmI

The US reference value for a therapeutic level of vit D is 50 ng/ml, not litre, as I said. The Euro level is OK, ie 125 nmol/litre.
An additional dimension to this issue is the Talmud, and International Jewry, which draws its philosophy therefrom.
The Talmud considers that all goyische women are in a permanent state of niddah, ie menstrual uncleanness. As such, the Jewish-controlled pharma industry would be very unlikely to wish these women to recover from cancer; quite the reverse in fact. In the UK, the Cancer Act of 1939 outlaws any doctor who advises any woman to submit to any treatment other than chemo, radiation, or surgery. All are either carcinogenic, or disfiguring. This therefore is exactly what we would expect from the Talmud, which is the most disgusting piece of toilet paper ever written upon.
Another gem from the pages of this piece of gutter press is the concept of rodef. This is the Hebrew word for a pursuer or a destroyer, and it is applied to the foetus, which may therefore be destroyed at any time during the pregnancy. Allegedly because it has no “nephesh”, or soul, until delivery. 50 million abortions have occurred in the US since Roe vs. Wade forty years ago. Forty years is the number of judgement; expect therefore divine judgement to fall upon the US ( and elsewhere ) early this year. “For God is not mocked”.
And why ? Are not the rabbis superior to God ? Well, no, actually. Jeremiah chapter one verse five gives God’s opinion about abortion.
“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee, and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations”.
Life therefore does not begin at conception. Or at delivery.

Some interesting comments: i have to admit i have been forced to confront my knowledge regarding the homogenising process as it is applied to milk. I had thought this term had meant only that milk from various sources was blended in order to obtain uniformity; of course milk is indeed mixed together for this purpose but that the miniaturising of the fat molecule is indeed occasioned so that the fat no longer separates.

As the tiny country that is responsible for one third of all transnational milk distribution i ask that the following information be considered as credible. I provide this as clear and concise argument as to the inherent manipulations caused upon milk, i am not being at all critical of any other opinion found in this thread.

This article was a real eye opener and has caused me to have real concern about the process of homogenisation. I now wonder, does this imply that raw cows milk is quite readily digested.

the real reason they do not get cancer is due to the sea weed—not some of this —this is old news and re hashed fluff—in the north the eat pork ( fat) poultry and and wheat ( unfortunately GMO) and in the south fish and poultry ( fat ) and rice ( GMO ) this article is either out dated or has been badly misinformed–the hunzas which out live ( 125-140 ) the chinese eat dairy and cheeses and out live them and are cancer fre for the most part–and so are the hopis with an avg life span of 110 —the factors in china as well have hem with other cancers—there soil is depleted with selenium and in those areas there reproductive cancers are alot higher and in areas where soy consumption is high there rates are just as bad as in the west—so again this is really out dated—and not accurate

This study shows that there is something about diet. But they didn’t find specific food or ingredient that may be a cause.

“A study released this past summer by the Philadelphia-based Fox Chase Cancer Center found that a Western-style diet greatly increased breast cancer risk for post-menopausal Chinese women. The study examined the dietary habits of 1,602 women who were diagnosed for breast cancer between August 1996 and March 1998, compared to 1,500 healthy women. All of the women lived in Shanghai, China, and their age ranged from 25 to 64. After adjusting for other possible factors such as when and whether the women bore children, the study found that post-menopausal women who followed a “meat and sweet” Western-style diet were 60 percent more likely to get breast cancer than same-age women who followed a “soy and vegetable” traditional Chinese diet. The effect was more significant for estrogen-receptor positive tumors, whose growth is nurtured by estrogen. The risk of getting this type of breast cancer was increased 90 percent by the Western-style diet. …Tseng, however, won’t single out any element in the Western diet as a “risk factor” for breast cancer. Scientists suspect that there could be ingredients in the diet that increase mutations to the DNA or cause hormonal changes that increase cell proliferation—both can lead to cancer—but no study on this subject has identified a mechanism behind the dietary findings. “We really don’t know what it is in the diet or how it’s working to increase breast cancer risk,” said Tseng. …Tseng also pointed out that the study doesn’t mean the ingredients in traditional Chinese diets can reduce breast cancer risk.”

I’d like to see a comparison between pasteurized and raw products. Breast cancer was virtually unknown in the US too – before we began processing the life out of the milk.

Chinese women are immune from cancer because of their Nephilim genes.

While a good diet should always be sought after, I still believe breast cancer is linked to the PARABENS in women’s cosmetics. The same PARABENS which have been found in breast cancer tumors.

The article states as women become more urbanized/western in China the breast cancer rates increase. I would bet as women migrate from rural areas to trendy cities the amount of cosmetic usage increases as well.

Look at the one famous male who developed breast cancer, Peter Criss aka the original drummer from Kiss. He wore make-up for 20 years. Coincidence? Who knows, but sure is interesting.

Assume that you’re speaking to a more stern and skeptical person than myself. You say that you’ve taken a typical course of Western medicine, WHILE using your harmless home remedy. The chemo wasn’t working; it was your fasting from dairy. All things being equal, how are we to know which was the cure.

It seems ordinary, to me, to say the body “walls-off” sources of chronic irritation, which may accumulate in your lymph nodes and cause abnormal growth. If you have some sensitivity, removed the source of your problem , and experienced an improvement, you should be congratulated.

But, Westerners eat dairy products, because they have been traditional staples for thousands of years.

Harmless growths are probably a sign of normal aging, overtreated in modern times, and ignored in primitive times.

If they represent a possible risk, we should be glad for the tools we have.

“The study, published in the journal Addiction on Thursday, found an association between alcohol consumption and cancers in seven sites of the body: the oropharynx, larynx, esophagus, liver, colon, rectum, and female breast. The strongest link was between alcohol and cancers of the mouth and throat.”
