Russian Rocket Re-Entry Lights Up Southern California Skies

Last week, NASA flight controllers uplinked commands to move the robot arm’s mobile transporter, or MT, from work site 4 to work site 2 on the forward face of the station’s long power truss. The rail auto needs to move about four inches so it can be latched into place.

With their primary task completed, Kelly and Kopra split up to work on separate tasks of routing cables along the space station. If all goes well, the astronauts will carry out a few get-ahead tasks before wrapping up the planned three-hour excursion.

The Progress MS-01/62P supply craft was scheduled for launch from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at 3:44:39 a.m. EST Monday (GMT-5; 2:44 p.m. local time).

Kelly, who is nine months into a one-year mission, will be designated extravehicular activity crew member 1 (EV1) wearing the suit bearing the red stripes, and Kopra will be extravehicular activity crew member 2 (EV2) wearing the plain suit.
