We all woke up on Sunday morning to the fact there had been no winning ticket or tickets for the Powerball drawing of January 09, 2016, after millions of individuals freely gave up millions, if not billions of dollars, to play the ‘game’ in forty-four US states and US territories. The last major win was claimed by a woman from Michigan on October 06, 2015, with a ticket worth $310 million. Of course the odds of her winning were 1 in 292 million but the question must be asked. Are the Powerball and the state administered national lotteries a scam?
