Say No to Bullying – Some Ways to Stop Bullying at Educational Institutions

The people who bully others should be given strict punishments as bullying is never ok and it should not be accepted anywhere. Numerous cases of bullying are witnessed every year. The main reason behind this harassment is the people who accept it. So, if one wants to demolish this wrongful activity, he or she must protest against it or anyone sees or confront this thing happening to anyone anywhere should inform the legal authorities about it. The more people will fight against it, more people will be prevented from it.

It has been seen that most bullying cases happen in schools and colleges. So, it is very important that students must recognize the acts of bullying at the earliest and must inform their parents and teachers. #  Supervise - The teachers must keep strict supervision on his or her students just like a hawk. The teachers can recognize those students by their body language. Normally the students who are bullied more have less confidence, socially non-active and smaller in nature. Provide personal sessions and do counseling of those students, it will help those students to feel positive and happy.

# Report to the authorities – It is the duty of a teacher to protect his or her students and when any teachers see that a student is bullied by someone in the school, he or she must report the case to the higher authorities.

# Get some evidence too – Sometimes students who are from affluent families try to rescue from such cases, but the teachers should not step back instead they should try to collect the evidence against that student so that the guilty may not get rescued from the legal proceeding which will be conducted against him.

# Teach good value to the students – The teachers must also conduct moral sessions in the classrooms so as to impart good values to their students. Teach students kindness and empathy and the importance of good values in life.

#  Try to connect the students – A friendly atmosphere can remove all the prevalence of ill-activities that happens inside the school premises. The teachers must work towards strengthening the student-student relationships. The students must be encouraged to talk freely with the teachers.

# Check the gateway behaviors – The small behaviors are often signaling that something wrong can happen. These small behaviors are called gateway behaviors. The teachers can detect the early signs by taking notice of some actions of students such as:

• Laughing back
• Spying
• Stalking
• Back turning
• Eye rolling
• Causing physical harm
• Prolonged staring

If the teacher sees any student behaving like this, he or she may give a warning to the student.

#  Eradicate the bullying culture in the educational set up – If the school or college culture is domineering, then nothing can be done. There are some instances when we see that the teachers are bullying the kids. So, in those cases, what should be done if the teachers are enforcing the wrongful acts in the studying environment. The culture has to be transformed because of the bullying would be accepted at one place, the chances will be increased. In these cases, the students have to become strong and have to report early to the higher authorities at the earliest.

#  Participate in Bullying simulations – The sessions should be conducted in schools in which the students should be asked to participate in the bullying simulations, with the help of which the students will recognize what harmful effects bullying can put on students. The students will understand deeply the bullying effects if they will experience it personally.

2.  The schools should conduct strict anti-bullying policies in schools. The students should stick anti-bullying posters on the walls of schools.
3.  The parents should also take care of their children and the school authorities must inform the child’s parents if the child is feeling depressed or worried.

So, one thing has to be accepted that any person whosoever experience this happening with him or her, they must provoke.Awareness among people has to be spread about it in case they face any exploitation or negative behavior from any individual, strict action has to be taken immediately.
