Rogue Congress And The Government Shutdown

It is the 14th day of the government shut down.  Today the new, radical, freshman congresswoman from New York will be sworn in. I can not help but think how turbulent the current climate in America is. As far as the shutdown, I hope it stays shut down. If the President caves on border wall funding and reopens the government, he will have failed in whole as President. But thinking “logically” as Q says, I can not help but ponder that it would make sense to push through everything the nation wants during President Trump’s second term. If he does anything to stir up the liberal base, or the deep state, he could jeopardize his re- election. I think his best move is to disclose and shine light on crimes of the deep state during 2019.

Regarding these new congress women and some of the same old larps, they will be coming out swinging. One freshman member of the House is a devout Muslim with anger and hatred in her eyes toward her adopted country and our ideals based in freedom.  She was actually sworn in with her berka on, a sign of oppression of women in caliphate run states. It’s interesting the amount of support by feminists for a culture of slavery and oppression of women. Then, of course, you have Cortez, the end product of illegal immigration, brainwashed young people, and the allure of “free stuff”.  Cortez herself is extremely dangerous with her calls for persecution of climate change deniers, reparations for African Americans, identity politics, and her third world communism mindset.

A Millenial Empty Suit

In addition, Ocasio-Cortez is both unintelligent and dishonest.  She has made numerous gaffs while campaigning.  Among them are her reference to the the “occupation” of Palestine by the Israelis.  When she was pressed to explain (everyone knows that Israel is a nation and Palestine is not), she shrugged it off by saying she wasn’t very familiar with with the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. She’s also claimed that the low unemployment rate is a negative sign.  She “explained” that the reason the unemployment numbers are down is because everyone is working two jobs and are working 60, 70, and 80 hours a week.  Of course, economists throughout the country called her out on her false statements and unimpressive logic.  Guess she’s not an economics major.  Wait. Yes she is. She graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor’s degree in economics and international relations.  Another reason not to send your kids to university.

Then, there was the infamous Ocasio-Cortez statement she made about Congress:  “If we work our butts off to make sure that we take back all three chambers of Congress — Uh, rather, all three chambers of government: the presidency, the Senate, and the House.” This 29-year-old appears to know nothing.  There are two chambers of Congress:  the House and the Senate.  And, the three branches of government are the legislative branch, the executive branch, and the judicial branch.  This is junior high and high school civics 101.  I know; I used to teach it.

I don’t hold out much hope for Congress with individuals like this now “representing” the people.  By the way, someone (probably from her staff) leaked the video below of her dancing on a rooftop during college.  Well, Bill Clinton had his shades and the saxaphone, Barack Obama had his singing and basketball playing, and Alexandria has her dancing.  The Democrat party understand their base is not very bright and can be influenced by the cool factor.  That’s how we got Bill and Barack in the first place.

Regarding honesty, Ocasio-Cortez claims to hail from the Bronx.  True, but when she was five, her parents moved to Weschester County, one of the richest zip codes in the US where the average household wealth is $1.2 million.  After graduating from college, the freshman Congress woman moved back to the Bronx, probably so she could run as the poor little Hispanic from the Bronx as a Democrat-Socialist.

And, today–living up to her socialist bonafides–she floated a 70% tax rate on the wealthy.  As with most socialists, she fails to recognize what former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher stated so eloquently:  “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.”  You can expect to hear more gaffs and unintelligible gibberish from this young woman, but expect the media to cover it up or explain it away.  After all, she is the new face of the Democrat party and probably the next Barack Obama.

The Dems Reek of Class

Let’s move on to another Democrat winner, Rashida Tlaib, representative from Michigan.  She told a crowd of leftists about a conversation she had with her young son after she won.  He had been understandably happy when his mother won and said so.  He also told her it was evidence that bullies don’t win.  Here’s how she responded to her son:  ‘Baby, they don’t,’ because we’re gonna go in there and we’re going to impeach the motherf****r.”  Remember, she was telling the crowd about her conversation with her son.  Classy.  High brow.  And, of course, the crowd ate it up.

Pelosi, Same Old Same Old

And what of Speaker Pelosi?  Well, she seems to be making an effort to appear to be evenhanded.  Pelosi discounted efforts at impeachment anytime soon and for political reasons.  In her own words,  “I do think that we want to be unified and bring people together. Impeachment is a very divisive approach to take and we shouldn’t take it … without the facts.”  I agree regarding impeachment, but I don’t think Pelosi believes this herself.  She is trying to thread a needle between the old guard Dems and the new freshmen coming into Congress who are very far to the left and want red meat, as do their constituents.

Much has been made of a fractured GOP, but my prediction is that the Democrats will fracture in obvious ways in the next two years.  They know they have the power to begin the impeachment process, but it will die in the Senate, which is marginally in charge by the Republicans.  This will all be for show to let their base know they are at least trying to oust the President, whom they believe to be a present day Manchurian Candidate.

Pelosi also explained that she wanted to make transparency “the order of the day” now that Democrats are in charge of the House.  Really Nancy?  Then, why did she want to get rid of cameras when meeting with the President and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Shumer?  Could it be that she didn’t want the country to see how she and Shumer were being handed their lunch during that meeting?

On another note, the Speaker said this:  “Let us pledge that when we disagree, we respect each other and we respect the truth.”  Yet, today when questioned about Rashida Tlaib’s vulgar comment, she said, “I probably have a generational reaction to it.  But, in any event, I’m not in the censorship business.  I don’t like that language, I wouldn’t use that language.  I don’t…establish any language standards for my colleagues, but I don’t think it’s anything worse than what the President has said.”  So much for respect.

No Room for Compromise

So, what about compromise?  Any room for that with the new Democrat led Congress?  Think again.  The administration wants five billion dollars to work on the border wall.  The Dems say no border wall and no funding the border wall.  Instead, as a big, fat, middle finger to the President, they have come up with ten billion dollars of aide money for Central American countries where poverty reigns.  This is twice as much as the President asked for to protect our country.  The money sent to Latin America will never reach the impoverished.  It will remain with its tyranical leaders and used on opulence.

2019:  Let the lunacy begin!
