Quantum Teleportation With 90% Accuracy Achieved – New Breakthrough

Scientists have long worked hard to achieve long-distance ‘quantum teleportation’, and now we are seeing the results of their efforts.

Quantum teleportation is a “disembodied” transfer of quantum states from one location to another. The quantum teleportation of a qubit is achieved using quantum entanglement, in which two or more particles are inextricably linked to each other. If an entangled pair of particles is shared between two separate locations, no matter the distance between them, the encoded information is teleported.

Researchers report they have successfully managed to teleport high-fidelity quantum information over a total distance of 44 kilometers (27 miles). This means we are one step closer to building a super-secure, super-fast quantum internet.
