In this episode of The Kev Baker Show we are joined by Dr Elaina George to discuss the dire state of the american medical system. The Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare as its better known, was promised as an improvement for both patients & medical professionals, but is that really the case?

With the “Big Pharma” companies in bed with the politicians in Washington, more & more the attention is moving away from actual patient care towards profit, profit, profit & to hell with the health of the individuals involved.

As we get into the conversation it strikes me that what im hearing described is a eugenics based health care system, where cost is put before patients health.

With panels sitting working out he cost effectiveness of treatment for individuals bases on various factors, one of which being the age of the potential patient. Can i hear “death panels” anyone?

During the election campaign in the USA we heard Donald Trump repeating his desire to rip up Obamacare. We now know that he has appointed Tom Price to head up Health & Human Sevices in the Trump government & Dr George gives her take on an actual physician getting the job as opposed to some bureaucrat that has never once worked in the medical industry at any level.

We also get Dr George to offer he solutions to the failing system & even talks about cheaper alternatives when it comes to purchasing prescriptions etc.

I also get “The Doc” to talk about vaccines & the risks that some may carry.

One thing that we can all agree on, whether is Obamacare in the USA or the under performing NHS in the UK, healthcare has now become all about the money, with corporations & middlemen coming first & the patient/medical staff becoming a mere afterthought.

I think we need a whole lot more medical professionals such as Dr Elaina George in this world!

DR. ELAINA GEORGE

Dr. Elaina George, a member of the national advisory council of the Project 21 black leadership network, is a board-certified otolaryngologist.

Dr. George graduated from
Princeton University with a degree in Biology. She received her master’s degree in medical microbiology from Long Island University, and her medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. Dr. George completed her residency at Manhattan, Eye Ear & Throat Hospital. Her training included general surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital, pediatric ENT at The NY-Presbyterian Hospital, and head and neck oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. George’s interest in the politics of healthcare has led her to become both a powerful voice for the practicing physician and an advocate for the patient. She is a contributor to a wide variety of websites including BigGovernment.com and the New Media Journal. She has also been a medical expert on a range of shows including Liberty Talk Radio and The Chuck Wilder Show. Dr. George hosts a weekly talk radio show, “Medicine On Call,” that explores health issues and the politics of medicine. She is also a speaker for American Entertainment International.
