The Woman-on-Man Sexual Assault Epidemic! More Serious Than You Might Think!

By Mike Shoesmith

Before I make my case let me start by saying this article in no way condones violence or assault of any kind against women. I readily admit that women are being assaulted by men at unacceptable rates and these men should bear the full consequences of their actions. This article is designed to point out a less obvious but equally damaging parallel culture of assault by women on men. With that out of the way, here we go!

Earlier today I posted the following observation to Facebook:

If a woman wears sexually suggestive clothing around a man is that not also sexual assault? Men are visually stimulated and unwanted stimulation should meet the basic definition of assault. I am not condoning bad behavior by men but women need to understand that by walking around in their little sister’s skirt they are guilty of indecent visual assault on a man’s imagination which does cause mental anguish and torment especially on men who really are trying to live in harmony and respect toward women; something made more difficult when every ripple and curve are exposed to the men around you. Something to think about.

Needless to say this caused a flurry of comments both in agreement and disdain. Many – too many – concluded I was fabricating an excuse for sexual assault against women by men. But those people, men and women, willing to wade into the deep end of the pool got it, thankfully.

Many married women also feel assaulted and infuriated by the provocative dress of other women in part because they know what it’s doing to their husbands. And what, exactly, does it “do” to their husbands?

When a man sees a naked or partially dressed woman a chemical reaction happens in his brain. Neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin are released, giving him an involuntary surge of pleasure… involuntary!

It does also appear that women know this affect they have on men. This is likely due to cultural conditioning over several decades. From the sexual revolution of the sixties to Hollywood’s push for more and more sexual imagery in movies girls have been conditioned to accept the normalization of using their bodies as tools to gain acceptance in society. The “look at me” addiction has led to smaller and smaller bathing suits on beaches with modesty having all but disappeared. The porn scenes made in private studios have gone public. Men are in a state of constant sexual assault by women who either don’t understand the severity of what they are doing because it’s cute and they like the attention, or worse – they do know the feelings it stirs and like the control they have over men.

When we examine the evidence further we discover that women will dress differently depending on their audience and desired effect. For example consider women in politics. They want us to take their policies and debate prowess seriously. Take Hillary Clinton for example.

Hillary Clinton

Classic buttoned-up top and pant suit. We never really saw her in anything else. She knew that people would never take her policies seriously if they were judging her sexuality. This is true of any woman seeking any higher office. Margaret Thatcher was the same way. And since her father became President, Ivanka Trump has started wearing less revealing clothing uncharacteristically showing very little cleavage in public. And yet whenever the Hollywood princesses go out in public on the red carpet it becomes an R-rated soft porn spectacle.

Jennifer Aniston

There are literally millions – nay – billions of pictures we could post here but again, soft porn. Do the women know what they are doing? Yes, of course. But are they aware that it fits the definition of “sexual assault?” Perhaps but probably not in those serious terms. According to the Canadian Criminal Code a person commits an assault when

(a) without the consent of another person, he applies force intentionally to that other person, directly or indirectly;
(b) he attempts or threatens, by an act or a gesture, to apply force to another person, if he has, or causes that other person to believe on reasonable grounds that he has, present ability to effect his purpose; or
(c) while openly wearing or carrying a weapon or an imitation thereof, he accosts or impedes another person or begs.

Notice the words from section (a): “without the consent of another person, he applies force intentionally to that other person, directly or indirectly.” As we discussed previously, the words “without the consent of another person” apply now that we know that when a man sees a naked or partially dressed woman a chemical reaction happens in his brain. Neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin are released, giving him an involuntary surge of pleasure. The word “involuntary” is defined as “done against someone’s will; compulsory” or in other words “without the consent of the other person.” And also according to section (a) of the Criminal Code of Canada it is done either directly or indirectly. So you see, according to at least one country’s criminal code, it could actually be argued in court that when a woman dresses scantily in public she could be found guilty of sexual assault which is kind of ironic since in the Province of Ontario it is legal for a woman to walk around with her breasts exposed in public.

Finally let me say, for your own sake and ours, please put some clothes on. Stop the sexual assault against men. Yes, you have the power. Yes, you are pretty. But also yes, you are assaulting us.

I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God. (NIV, 1 Timothy 2:9-10)

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to make themselves beautiful. (NIV, 1 Peter 3:2-5)
