RIP – Death of CDC infected scientist – Timothy Cunningham 35-year-old epidemiologist took a sick leave on Feb. 12 after feeling unwell and left work at about midday and disappeared after that. There were no signs of foul play in the death of a US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention epidemiologist, said Fulton County Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Jan Gorniak.

The preliminary cause of death is drowning, Gorniak told reporters at a Thursday press conference, but the manner of death has not been determined. The investigation is ongoing.
