White House: One year after leaving the disastrous Iran deal

One year ago, President Trump officially withdrew the United States from the fatally flawed, one-sided Iran nuclear deal—under which Iran was free to sponsor terrorist networks, develop its missile force, and brutalize its own people. Today, the President imposed tough new sanctions to further deprive Iran of funds for its campaign of violent terror.

“We are successfully imposing the most powerful maximum pressure campaign ever witnessed, which today’s action will further strengthen,” President Trump said in a statement. “Tehran can expect further actions unless it fundamentally alters its conduct.”

This afternoon, President Trump took off for Panama City, Florida, to visit the Tyndall Air Force Base that was ravaged by Hurricane Michael last year. Despite the base seeing most of its structures damaged from the storm, the United States Air Force is determined to build Tyndall into the “base of the future.”

For National Hurricane Preparedness Week, President Trump is encouraging all Americans who reside in hurricane-prone areas to safeguard their families and homes.

“As a Nation, we are sadly too familiar with the destructive force of hurricanes,” the President said in his proclamation. “To help prevent and mitigate hurricane-related harm, it is critically important that we prepare for the upcoming hurricane season, which starts next month.”

One helpful tool the President called attention to this week is the Ready Campaign. Led by FEMA, the campaign is an online resource for all disaster planning needs.
