4-Year-Old Girl Mauled to Death by Multiple Dogs

An Alabama 4-year-old girl, who was playing in her partially fenced-in yard, was mauled to death by multiple dogs Wednesday afternoon. The girl’s grandfather spotted one large dog standing over her lifeless body, but it is believed that multiple dogs were involved in the attack; among them, a Labrador retriever mix and large German shepherd mix.

Currently two dogs believed to have been involved in the gruesome attack have been taken into custody and are being held, according to police, by a local veterinarian’s office. The name and details of the owner of the dogs have not been revealed but the canines have been quarantined to see if forensic evidence can be gathered to link the dogs to the attack. Law enforcement is seeking court orders to have both of these dogs, who are owned by people in the neighborhood, destroyed if there is a match.
