Military Strategies to Counter ISIS (Part 1 of 2)

The American Heritage® Dictionary defines “strategy” as the science and art of using all the forces of a nation to execute approved plans as effectively as possible during peace or war; a plan of action resulting from strategy or intended to accomplish a specific goal; the art or skill of using stratagems in endeavors such as politics and business.  Sun Tzu said, “All men can see the tactics whereby I conquer, but what none can see is the strategy out of which victory is evolved.”[1]

All of the following military strategies are available (no holds barred) for employment.  One of the most skilled Japanese swordsmen in history, Miyamoto Musashi said, “Strategy is the craft of the warrior.”[2]  He further said, “Someone once said ‘Immature strategy is the cause of grief.’  That was a true saying.”[3]  Thus, a strategy to combat the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is what President Barack Obama did not have just a few weeks ago.  Now, the strategy that he has devised is a “no boots on the ground strategy.”

First-Strike Strategy

 “First strike” is a viable and effective strategy.  The best defense is a good offense.  Karl von Clausewitz, Prussian general and military strategist, said, “The best form of defense is attack.”[4]  General George S. Patton said, “In case of doubt, attack.”  Miyamoto Musashi said, “Because you can win quickly by taking the lead, it is one of the most important things in strategy.”[5]  Therefore, what do we have?  A no boots on the ground strategy!

Always Take the Offensive Strategy

Better to attack than to be attacked.  Always, always, always take the offensive over the defensive.  Defense works in winning football games, but does not work in winning all-out wars.  In warfare, an offensive strategy works better than does a defensive strategy.  I would rather attack than be attacked.  Sun Tzu said, “Security against defeat implies defensive tactics; ability to defeat the enemy means taking the offensive.  Standing on the defensive indicates insufficient strength; attacking, a superabundance of strength.”[6]

Hunker-down strategy.  The hunker-down strategy did not work very well for Saddam Hussein in the first Gulf War when American bombs from B-52s nearly decimated his Republican Guard.  President George H. W. Bush made the big mistake of not going all the way and conquering Iraq in the first go-around.  Miyamoto Musashi said, “Everything can collapse.  Houses, bodies, and enemies collapse when their rhythm becomes deranged.  In large-scale strategy, when the enemy starts to collapse, you must pursue him without letting the chance go.  If you fail to take advantage of your enemies’ collapse, they may recover.”[7]  Moreover, that is exactly what Saddam Hussein did—hunker down.  That is exactly what Barack Obama is doing.

Prussian General Karl von Clausewitz said, “If the enemy is to be coerced, you must put him in a situation that is even more unpleasant than the sacrifice you call on him to make.  The hardships of the situation must not be merely transient – at least not in appearance.  Otherwise, the enemy would not give in, but would wait for things to improve.”[8]  Do not let the enemy rest and recover to fight another day.  Pursue him and kill him so that he cannot come back at you in the future.  This is what President Obama does not realize.  That is what happens when you put a community organizer in charge of a war.

Remember, General George S. Patton, said, “In war the only sure defense is offense, and the efficiency of the offense depends on the warlike souls of those conducting it.”  Further, General Patton said, “Always take the offensive…never dig in.”  Furthermore, he said, “Fixed fortifications are monuments to the stupidity of man.”  Therefore, always be on the prowl—like a tiger.  We should avoid decimation by not being sitting ducks.

Overwhelming Force Strategy

Do not pussyfoot around.  When you attack, hit the enemy with your best shots.  Knock them on their rear ends with the first barrage of firepower.  As a winning boxer uses a flurry of deadly jabs, we should do likewise in battle.  Do whatever it takes to win the fight.  President Teddy Roosevelt said, “The unforgivable crime is soft hitting.  Do not hit at all if it can be avoided; but never hit softly.”  That is what the United States is doing by hitting the ISIS warriors with pinprick bombings using Predator Drone Hellfire missiles.  We get a truck and a tank here and there, but the bulk of the ISIS command structure, forces, and supplies are in Syria.  President Ronald Reagan said, “Of the four wars in my lifetime, none came about because the US was too strong.”[9]

Tactical Nuclear Warfare Strategy

Use tactical nuclear weapons (TNWs) in warfare.  Using tactical nukes would end wars quickly.  Look what happened after the United States dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.  We must extinguish the enemy’s will to win and the will to fight.  Once we do that, the war is over.

I liken Miyamoto Musashi’s long sword to TNWs.  He said, “To master the virtue of the long sword is to govern the world and oneself, thus the long sword is the basis of strategy.  The principle is ‘strategy by means of the long sword.’  If he attains the virtue of the long sword, 1 man can beat 10 men.  Just as 1 man can beat 10, so a 100 men can beat 1,000 [men], and 1,000 can beat 10,000.  In my strategy, 1 man is the same as 10,000, so this strategy is the complete warrior’s craft.”[10]

Hence, with a single explosion, one pilot using a TNW can kill 10,000 terrorists and terrorist sympathizers.  The best time to hit them is when they hold a huge anti-American rally in their capital’s town square (like Red Square, for example).  One TNW can eliminate 100,000 to 1,000,000 people in one fell swoop.  What a strategy!

Dirty Nukes Strategy

Use “dirty nuclear” weapons.  We also call these as radiological weapons delivered as a radiological dispersal device (RDD).  If we do not use it first, ISIL will be using it soon on the White House, Capitol Building, New York City, and the Pentagon.  Then, as usual, we will be playing a catch-up ballgame.  Someday, their first strike may render us incapable of catching up.  Always stay in the driver’s seat by taking the offensive and using your strongest weapons first.

Shock-and-Awe Strategy

Shock and awe the enemy with overwhelming offensive force.  I am not talking about the joke of a “shock and awe” as demonstrated in Baghdad during the second Gulf War or the War with Iraq.  I refer to a real, honest-to-goodness “shock and awe” using tactical nuke weapons.  Surprise and shock always give you the upper hand over any enemy.

Assassination Strategy

Assassinate Axis of Evil leaders and key terror leaders using hired, professional assassins.  Some people would do anything for money.  However, John Wilkes Booth and Lee Harvey Oswald did it without remuneration when they assassinated President Abraham Lincoln and President John F. Kennedy, respectively.  Sirhan Sirhan, an Islamo-fascist (Isfast) terrorist, did it at no cost when he assassinated Bobby Kennedy.

Regime Change Strategy

Target Iran, North Korea, and Syria.  Eradicate governments that foster, harbor, finance, and train Isfast terrorists.  If the president is going to make such statements that we are coming after countries that support terrorism as former President George W. Bush did, then we should back up that strong rhetoric with action and actually do it.  Hence, we should turn Iran, North Korea, and Syria over to more civilized, humane rulers.

A good defense is a better offense.  Plans should be in place to effect such regime changes.  These defensive strategies should not be unplanned events or on-the-spur-of-the-moment actions.  Remember, we are not wantonly out to conquer other nations.  We only strive to protect ourselves from those who outwardly profess to kill all of us in a nuclear or other attack.  Hence, a good defense is a better offense.

Eliminate ISIS Strategy

Eliminate ISIS, which is the Isfast terrorist network base.  The ISIS is an offshoot of al-Qaeda is the driving force behind all other Isfast organizations such as the Taliban, al-Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah, Boko Haram, et al.  First, cut off the head of the snake, i.e., get Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi—now known as Amir al-Mu’minin Caliph Ibrahim—is the caliph of ISIS.  Then, get the body of the snake by eradicating all of the ISIS terrorists.  Finally, shut off the war resources to the ISIS, al-Qaeda, Taliban, Hamas, Hezbollah, Boko Haram et al.

Remove the Cancer Strategy

Deal with ISIS terrorists as you would a cancer.  You have to cut it out using surgery or poison it using radiation and/or chemotherapy.  We should first isolate it and then kill it.  General Colin Powell had it right during the first Gulf War.  George H. W. Bush’s biggest mistake was to refrain from entering Baghdad and zapping Saddam Hussein on that first go-around.  Had he done that, we would have avoided the problems in Iraq that we are dealing with today.

Genocide Strategy

Exterminate every Isfast terrorist.  Conduct genocide on all Isfast terrorists.  “Genocide” is the systematic and planned extermination of an entire national, racial, political, or ethnic group.  In this case, the Isfast terrorists comprise a political group.  Exterminate every Isfast terrorist on the face of the earth.

Take no prisoners.  This is a worldwide war.  We must kill them on the spot instead of bringing them to court or incarcerating them in the Guantanamo (or Gitmo for short) detention center.  Do not capture any terrorist.  The only language they understand is death.  Even then, they erroneously think they are going to dwell with Allah.  Little do they know that they will go straight to Hades to live with the Son of the Morning, i.e., Satan!  However, it will be more like “mourning” than “morning.”

Cut Off Resources and Supplies Strategy

Cut off the ISIS terrorist and Isfast forces financial resources and war-making capability.  Choke them at points that will slow down their ability to fight.  Cut off and destroy the terrorists’ food and water supplies.  Kill the terrorists’ livestock to starve their population.

Destroy-from-Within Strategy

Get terrorists to mistrust and fight each other.  Create internal strife.  Divide and conquer.  Destroy their morals and morale.  As they attempt to destroy us from within (as aided by the cowardly secular progressives and PC), we should do likewise to them.

Moral Decay Strategy

American decadence.  Establish a long-term program to destroy the Isfast morals of their children.  Get at their children.  Tempt their children with what their parents would call “American decadence.”  First, have aircraft fly over enemy territory and drop candy on their cities for their children to pick up and eat.  Then, airdrop care packages using small parachutes.  These care packages would include such things as junk food, sweets, comic books, paperback books, jeans, and other tame items.

Destroy from within.  As their children grow and start to crave for more American goods, send them rock and roll music, Coke and Pepsi, TV soap operas, and movies.  Then, get them to enjoy hamburgers, bacon, pork, liquor, illicit sex, pornography, and drugs.  Finally, get them to question and cast off their religion.  In other words, destroy them from within just as the secular progressives are destroying the United States from within.

Surreptitious Campaign Strategy

Conduct a surreptitious campaign against all ISIS terrorists.  “Surreptitious” means to obtain, do, or make by clandestine, secret, or stealthy means.  Go after terrorists with a hidden force (using undercover men, paramilitary force, guerrillas, covert operations, snipers, assassins, silencers, sleepers, and moles) that quietly get terrorists sans publicity or fanfare.  Terrorists would disappear one by one.  Then, one day, there will be none!

Unconventional Warfare Strategy

Conduct unconventional warfare against the ISIS terrorists.  Use unconventional tactics, weapons, and uniforms.  Use unconventional sources and methods of gathering surveillance data.  Use unconventional platforms for transportation.  Use unconventional tools, paraphernalia, and means of rendering the enemy incapable of resisting and carrying on his world domination objectives.

Hit-and-Run Warfare Strategy

Conduct hit-and-run warfare on the ISIS terrorists.  Conduct raids, blitzkrieg (lightning war), and stealth warfare on terrorist training camps and cells.  Take the quick-strike option.  Hit the nuclear development facilities of Iran and North Korea sooner rather than later.
