Chris Brown Rejects Plea Deal Opts for Trial Instead

Nearly two hours before Chris Brown’s scheduled hearing in D.C. Superior Court his attorneys notified prosecutors that they were rejecting a plea deal they earlier agreed to.  The plea deal would have meant no probation or jail time but included Brown pleading guilty to assault for allegedly punching a photograph-seeking fan outside the W Hotel in downtown Washington.

Kevin Chambers, Assistant U.S. Attorney, said although the deal called for no jail time, Brown would have had to agree to the details of the assault as outlined by prosecutors.  Brown’s attorney, Mark J. Geragos, said his client does not agree with the details of the assault the way the prosecutors described them.  During a press conference outside of the courthouse, Geragos said, “If they want a trial that is what they are going to get.”

Prosecutors alleged Brown and his bodyguard, Christopher Hollosy, hit their client, Parker Adams, after he tried to take a picture of himself with the entertainer.
