2^nd Station: Jesus Carries his Cross

We adore you O Christ and we praise you,

Because by your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world.

This station reminds me that life is a journey, and we are constantly moving from place to place. Moving towards work, towards home, to school, moving with a purpose. We set out to arrive at a destination. They say that the essence of life is about the journeying, as much as the destination itself. How true!

As we journey, we engage in emotions, we interact with others, we give an example, good or bad, and these engagements shape our lives and determine how and when we arrive at the destination. As men and women of faith how we journey to heaven is the challenge of life. Jesus lays down that challenge as he takes us his cross and begins to move. Take up your cross and follow, says Jesus. On the journey of life Lord Jesus may I walk often in your shade and secure in your presence.
