3^rd Station: Jesus falls for the first time.

We adore you O Christ and we praise you,

Because by your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world.

Seeing Jesus fall causes us to wince, to see his pain causes us great sorrow. Falling is a part of life, I know what I should do and yet sometimes I choose not to, I choose the wrong things, make wrong choices and the consequences can be painful, but these choices are of my own making, Jesus is innocent the pain I feel towards his suffering is real. Through no fault of his own he takes our sins on to himself carrying the weight of indifference, spitefulness, jealousy, gossip, ridicule, vanity and these are my sins, my choices made in weakness and selfishness.

Falling to the dirt of the earth, Jesus forgives my sins. And as he gets up to continue the journey towards the cross he forgives me and encourages me to carry on and try to make the right choices, choices that lead to life, joy and eternal happiness

Lord I thank you for loving me, and forgiving me, your falling to the earth jolts me to resolve to be better.
