We adore you O Christ and we praise you,

Because by your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world.

Jesus is in the silence of the tomb. It is accomplished. We wait with the whole world and anticipate Jesus’ rising from the dead and we wait firm in hope!

The popular hymn sung at funerals I watch the sunrise says in the last verse

I watch the moonlight guarding the night,
waiting till morning comes.
The air is silent, earth is at rest –
only your peace is near me.

We wait for the morning to come of the day of resurrection and reward, where we will be with Christ forever. We have to die first, and this causes fear and pain. Yet when we go through this sorrow we know the morning will come. May Jesus be near us as we breathe our last.
