Easter
stained with dry blood,
cling to perfumed flesh,
lain upon ice cold marble stone,
flesh for the life of the world
slumped across the floor of this tomb, a lifeless Corpus Christi;
communion for the lost and found, bereft of breath,
the annihilation of innocence
the lament of grief, floating across a mourning air.
of divine light,
fills the decaying
Corpus of crucified flesh,
as linen cloths fall to the earth, freeing the life for the world,
the Risen Christ breathes once more; communion for the lost and found, speaking of peace,
the exaltation of new life
moving across the exhilarated Easter morning air.
