Dana Treat
Like most food bloggers, I am one of those people who has always loved food. My mom started giving me “table food” when I was 9 months old and I have never looked back. I was not picky as as child, but meat was never that appealing to me. I always liked the side dishes better. When I was 16 years old, I decided to make a change in my diet and cut out all meat and poultry. At 20, I gave up fish. It’s now been 20 years since I have eaten something with a face and I find my diet to be incredibly rich, interesting, and satisfying. And, aside from a few french fries here and there, healthy. Not to worry, I will never climb on a vegetarian soap box here – my own husband eats meat – I just want to share my love of good vegetarian food. And baked goods.
I live in Seattle with a great husband and two boys, ages 6 and 4. For three years, I worked as a personal chef to several Seattle area families. When I brought them their dinners, I would include a “treat” and that is how Dana Treat was born. Early in the fall of 2009, I decided to take a break from delivering weekly dinners and to just take on occasional catering projects and teach a few cooking classes. Those few occasional classes have morphed into bi-monthly offerings at my home in Seattle.
