As the happy owner of a MSc degree in Public Health sciences as well as a degree in journalism I have set out into exploring the world of what is labelled “Social Web Media” and the communication of research in Public Health Sciences. How is or could social web media be used as platforms for science communication? Are there good examples out there, are there bad once? What are the risks? Who reads them? And why? And when? All these and many more are questions I plan to allow confusing my head in the coming year as research assistance at the Medical Museion at the Institute of Public Health, University of Copenhagen, Denmark.
