My sister lives in Ridgecrest California and she texted me this morning saying they are really shook up there was only minor damage on their home and they are okay but the epicenter was 3 miles from their home. I wish she would move away from the West coast because for many reasons it makes me nervous that she lives in California. 😕

These earthquakes are really stirring up Yellowstone. Keep an eye on that as well. The magma is on the move and the heat has risen up pretty close to the surface. Basically, magma was 1 and 1/2 miles from the surface after that first earthquake. I dont know what it is now. USGS is redacting information as usual.

What’s to come?…I don’t know. We can only hope for the best, and right now the best is President Trump and his plan(s). Is it happening quick enough? That really depends on varying factors. For me (for us…’any’ of us) it really can’t happen quick enough, but it may be that reality has a different idea of “quick enough”. Operational boards are not static,…they’re fluid. It’s like a dance (truly) on a ship in heavy-seas, and in that dance other things may wind up dictating timing and direction…in spite of desires, plans, etc. It goes: “all in due time”. Clichés once carried merit. Now, I believe most wisdom – having been turned into mere “cliché”, has been cast in a pale light of distain, so much so that it’s utterly disregarded as being anything other than “crap meant to trigger certain people…and that’s it”. IMHO, I count myself lucky that I grew up in an era of no internet, no cellphones, and no microwaves. “Instant” still required boiling water for coffee,…an “instant dinner” meant preheating an oven and still waiting 20ish minutes for it to cook,…or waiting until an appropriate time to make a phone call, and if you wanted to see the world, you either had to ‘go’ see the world, or research ‘and’ read a book. With the advent of microwaves, I saw the change in people of “I expect it now”. And NOW, this “change” is honed by “on-demand TV”, and now “on-demand shopping” – order it online today and it’s at your door tomorrow. All of this instant-society (instant relationships, instant marriages, instant divorces, instant-???), all of this leaves people of all ages expecting ‘everything’ to happen “instantly”. Centers in Ridgecrest 7.1 felt all the way to Aizona and down to Santiago the one a couple of days ago also centered in Ridgecrest right near Bakersfield. Los Vegas also felt it.

I recall when I was s kid (1970s), scientists said that someday there would be s HUGE 5.0 earthquake and it could possibly crack off the state of California. I’m not sure what the person you are quoting about the earthquakes in CA is talking about, but I have lived in the LA area for 32 years and YES these happen. It’s just been about 20 years since we’ve had any really larger ones comparable to the recent Ridgecrest earthquakes. So, I would not necessarily call these unusual or out of the ordinary. It’s typical for CA and this area.
