Focus Points For the Next Couple of Days

After several days of active weather across the central and eastern U.S., the weather pattern is expected to become less eventful by the middle of the week. The upper level trough lifts out of the Northeast U.S. on Tuesday, with a zonal flow pattern in place across most of the continental U.S. Showers and thunderstorms are likely from the Ohio Valley to the Northeast through Tuesday evening as a weak cold front crosses the region. Although the air will be somewhat drier behind the front, temperatures are not expected to cool down that much. By Wednesday, the next upper low begins affecting the Pacific Northwest along with a cold front moving inland. An increase in showers is likely from northern California to Washington state in conjunction with this.
