Support Mike Lee for U.S. Senate

I’m proud to announce the Senate Conservatives Fund endorsement of U.S. Senator Mike Lee in Utah.

This is our first endorsement for the 2016 election cycle and it’s the first time we have supported an incumbent for reelection.

Let me explain why.

Senator Mike Lee is exceptional.

He has a perfect 100% Liberty Score from Conservative Review and he’s been a champion in the Senate for our principles. He has helped lead the fight to defund Obamacare, balance the budget, reform outdated programs, and to stop the president’s unlawful amnesty.

Senator Lee believes deeply in the principles of freedom that make America great and has tirelessly fought for these values over the past four years.

There’s no question that Senator Mike Lee has kept his word and governed the way he promised in 2010 when he defeated Senator Bob Bennett, a big-spending Republican who had lost his way.

But there’s another reason why we’re making this endorsement today.

Senator Mike Lee needs our help.

Standing up for conservative principles has made Senator Lee unpopular in Washington and the GOP establishment would like to see him go away.

Spencer Zwick, the national finance chairman for Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign, recently criticized Senator Lee and pledged to help defeat him next year.

“Business leaders that I talk to,” said Zwick, “would never support his reelection and in fact will work against him, myself included.”

Some believe that Mitt Romney’s son, Josh Romney, is the ideal establishment challenger to Senator Lee. Abby Huntsman, the daughter of former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, urged Josh Romney on MSNBC to run against Senator Lee next year.

We can’t allow this to happen.

When it comes to the 2016 elections, the very first thing conservatives should do is support Senator Mike Lee so he can win the Republican primary in Utah.
