Distorted Reality

If I say what’s on my mind

will you say the fault’s all mine

will you say that’s its just me

and that it’s not reality,

You will take the things I feel

and tell me that it’s not real

will you say it’s blown out of proportion

and that it’s my own distortion

I’ve been trying so hard

to be where you are

but I it doesn’t matter

when  you act like you don’t care

You make me feel second best

compared to all the rest

I guess I’m on my own

but isn’t that the way it always goes

You said you believed in me

that’s not how it always appears to be

and when you out there with the crowd

can you hear my heart screaming out

when you get mad at me so easily

you don’t see what it does to me

but bottled up feelings inside of me

only leads to catastrophe

Sometimes, I wish I could find

the words to say, that won’t get away

or start a fight that lasts all night

where you can really see

I’m not trying to be mean

I just want you see, 

this distorted reality
