LOVE WARNING KDRAMA REVIEW

As per AGB Nielsen, the romantic series’ episode 1 kicked off with 2.796 percent audience share. However, it ended with only 1.604 percent. And, here is our Love Warning Kdrama review.

The story revolves around Yoon Yoo Jung (Korean drama actress Yoon Eun Hye) and Cha Woo Hyun (Korean drama actor Chun Jung Myung). The former is a top actress, while the latter is a dermatologist, who is secretly a chaebol.

The two lead characters meet incidentally while Yoo Jung is involved in a dating scandal. To save face, she asks for Woo Hyun’s help. They make a contract and act like they are in love.

Things develop from there. Yoo Jung forgets her heartbreak as her feelings for Woo Hyun grow each day and every encounter. However, they are forcefully being separated by the antagonist Kang Hee Joo (Korean drama actress Kang Seo Yoon).

To make story short, Kang Hee Joo has fallen by the end of it, after making the lead characters’ lives difficult. Yoo Jung has helped a lot in mending Woo Hyun’s broken relationship with his father and his family.

The MBN drama, in fairness to writer Kim Shin Hye, was a good one. But there was one thing I could not wrap my head around. Was it really a good choice to have a male secretary/assistant for Kang Hee Joo? It was awkward for me to watch that she was swimming at the pool and giving orders or having conversations with him while in her suit and he put on her robe. Not being sexist here or something, though. Just sayin’.

The must watch Korean drama was Yoon Eun Hye’s comeback on small screens. This is after her scandal some years ago. To be honest, her performance became somehow dull in this project. Perhaps she has lost her touch after not being active for some years. (Or it may be just me.)

Anyhow, her chemistry with Chun Jung Myung was merely satisfactory for the series. There was nothing special.

Personally, I also found the lackluster performance of Lee Hye Ran who played the role of Reporter Joo Min A, while interacting with K-star P.O., who played the role of Yoo Jung’s younger brother Yoo Joon.

Overall, we rate Love Alert 3 stars out of 5.
