"Tens of thousands of Jelly fish are washing ashore Florida East Coast"

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Daytona Beach Florida

This week of sights along the East Coast of Florida, Daytona Beach and North areas, may be only bit of things to come…

have brown foam washing ashore in places, what is this stuff streaking the shores ?

and large numbers of Jelly fish are washing ashore by the tens of thousands that normally come to shore areas in Augusts. Is something in the water ?

These jelly fish have slight stings when touching humans.

Also finding Box / ghosts crabs dead along the shore.

Finding very small granular size gold/brown oily substance on beach at water lines in places. Need to look closely….

Touching it will stick to finger and rub between fingers and it smears all over fingers…. little goes a long way !

Here is a site to find fish/animals/birds kills in Florida, A lot is happening Folks…

I have been riding the Loop a roadway that goes around a large area for bikers to ride to site-see, and Folks, the birds that used to be in the wetland and tributaries are gone, High Bridge there are “no” small birds running along the edges of the shore, it is eerie, sad, and makes one angry that the smaller life’s are disappearing as each day goes by, the next will be the larger life birds. When I bring it up to people and they look around and say, WTF, where are the birds ? Only crow, blackbirds, Jay scrubs and a few large birds not the hundreds of small birds eating from the shorelines anymore.

I beleive they are some type of animal excretement(possibly ghost shrimp),but because of the water contamination, they are being excreted more frequently and by the thousands!

A native from St.George Island & Apalahcicola,Fl.,I have seen these before the “oil gusher” hit our beaches, but since June have seen larger and larger amounts accumulating on our shores.

I,too, would appreciate feedback on what this is and if anyone else is seeing this in such large amounts, elsewhere.

See video link to view FWC responding to call made about possible patch of product, stained sand & pellets.

I,too have noticed a huge decline in shore & wading birds in our area of Apalachicola Bay & St.George Island,Fl.Laughing gulls that would normally flock to an area, especially when food was presented.I recently watched as only two seagulls & a blue heron came in for treats of fresh shrimp a beach-goer was handng out.I stopped along the Bay today, looking for the many sand-pipers who gather on the low tide flats. What I did find plenty of,were several species of freshly dead shells, most were not even inhabited by hermit crabs.I rode this stretch of Hwy98 for some 25 miles and could count on one hand the shore birds I did see. This just made my heart sink further-remembering it was said “this would happen”…
Well,it’s here & happening now, before my very eyes.I take a camera everywhere I go now,to capture these tragic events taking place daily. This record, the heartwrenching proof of all that is left behind, may somehow prevent this from ever happening again!

Yes with the soapy sludge appears to have colors in the bubbles often is more brown then white, huge pools of this are prevalent. The bird numbers are still going down in some areas but have notice new ones have come to beaches, how long ? May have come from elsewhere ?
